This book follows the journey of the germ from toilet seat to tummy and how germs cause illness; this journey of the germ can be altered if toddlers wash the germs away by cleaning their hands.

1. Do you know how a germ can make you poorly? If you touch something with germs on and then put your hands in your mouth the germs will travel to your tummy and make you sick

The book explores the concepts of germs being invisible to the naked eye, multiplying and causing illness via an interactive journey of the germ.

2. Do you know how to make germs go away? Wash your hands with soap and then dry them.

• The Germs Hiding – Explore with the children the idea of germs hiding, so even though they can’t see the germs they are there and can make you poorly. Discuss how touching certain areas of the home such as the toilet seat that may look clean will result in germs getting onto your hands and why it is then important to wash hands to remove the germs.
