NATIONAL NATURE RESERVE
Far Ings National Nature Reserve covers approximately 200 acres (80.94 hectares) of flooded clay pits, freshwater reedbeds, mudflats, scrub and grassland. The reserve is rich in wildlife, including many aquatic plants, and birds such as bittern, marsh harrier, bearded tit and pochard. The reserve is also important for mammals like water vole and water shrew as well as insects such as dragonflies and wainscot moths.

Where can I walk?
Wainscot moth One of several very similar species This nature reserve is maintained by the Lincolnshire Wildlife Trust, a charity which relies mainly on voluntary contributions. Please help us to care for this beautiful and interesting place by making a donation at the Visitor Centre or contact our head office.

There are three loop walks that are clearly waymarked. A map and guide showing these routes is available in the Visitor Centre to take with you on your walk.
Dogs
Dogs disturb wildlife and are not permitted within the reserve. Please walk your dog along the public footpaths that run around the nature reserve. Thank you. Public footpaths are represented by yellow and black routes on the map.
The Visitor Centre Free Admission See some exciting interactive displays, visit our gift shop or just relax and admire the views. The Visitor Centre is also available for schools and other education groups. Please enquire within.
