Carmelinda Covino I love laughing, chatting and partying with friends as well as dancing or drinking (with responsability!) I am very friendly, honest and sweet. I really talk a lot. I’m a shopaholic, can’t resist to bag and necklaces. I love languages, love talking to people from a country I dont even know where it is. I wanna go to Fijii or back to Australia. I love airports and stations, almost have my trolley ready to go. I like to meet old friends and I love guys who make me laugh. I love cooking for friends and I adore cheescake. I should have been born in England, I love english and the teatime. I love gingseng coffee. I wish I’d be taller. I appreciate Klimt and Schiele. I go crazy for design forniture and lamps and I cannot live without computer (get a mac!) I pay attention to details, and I got a great memory (be careful).

SCACCO MATTO

READY TO PLAY: USE WHATEVER YOU WANT!

Graduation project (2008) in collaboration with Giovanardi srl and Gspot -fabbrica di design contemporaneo-.

Scacco Matto is the result of a reseach for a new product/service model which aims to reuse industries’ leftovers to create design objects with a story and new values.

Blo.G is the virtual platform through which designers, social cooperatives and industries can share know-how, technology and new ideas to create more “eco-sensitive” objetcs like this table “Scacco Matto” which is made of metal, plexiglass and soft cylinder used to pack watches .


DIABOLaid Project developed at QUT, Brisbane, Australia (2006)

Concept for an underwear garment for life-saving.

It can be used by skiers, rock climbers, rescue teams and people who live in mountain places. Study of co-branding or customization by sportswear fashion brands. Use of wearable electronics and gps technology.

Design of a new concept store for Carrara’s marble promotion.

A three-floors store that -through the metaphore of “Alice in Wonderland”guides customers, designers and suppliers through Carrara’s history and marble’s new possibilities in terms of design and architecture.

Playing on the “remains” concept, this guerrilla action creates an uncommon parallelism beetween food and industrial world. Screw and hacksaw instead of fork and knife invite people to think about industrial overlefts in a new and creative way promoting“BloG” project. This action aims to focus people’s attention on the trash can, isolating it, through a “work in progress” stripe sign. “Design only”, because over-lefts become new material for design objects.

SERVICE XP OBJECTS Workshop with Elena Pacenti from Domus Academy (2007) Gadgets are “experience objects”.

Customized gadgets for Triennale Design Museum. Distinctive elements related to the author or the subject of the current exhibition are used to create instant wearable paper-mockups. Uploading a funny photo of you wearing “Andy Wahrol hairs” or “Salvador Dalì mustaches” you can have the chance to win the exhibition’s catalogue or a save-off for the next show.


Street pillow is a gadget that each small pub or bar who hasn’t available outside seats can sell (at a low price) to its customers. The pillow is inflatable and has a sticker to play a game: if you find the person with the same sticker as yours, both of you can share a free drink offered by the pub.
