Our Education

friendly, inClusive and purposeful

“Friendly, inclusive and purposeful” are the words Alex Frazer, the 34th Head of Wolverhampton Grammar School, used recently to describe his school. Wolverhampton Grammar School or WGS as it is more affectionately known, is situated to the west of Wolverhampton on a 25-acre campus. The historic façade might at first seem a little imposing but as you enter through the gates, you are soon greeted by the real heart of the school – the staff and students. They really make WGS the warm and vibrant, forwardthinking school that it has become some 500+ years since its foundation.

Do not be confused by the name, Wolverhampton Grammar School is an independent day school and offers all the benefits of a private education. You can expect academic excellence, small class sizes, outstanding pastoral care including one-toone counselling, a plethora of extra-curricular activities of which sports and music tours play an exciting part, careers advice and an emphasis on life skills.

oPEN To ALL!

Due to growing demand, Wolverhampton Grammar’s thriving Junior School, established in 2011, was expanded further to admit boys and girls aged 4 years for the first time this academic year. Now an all-through school from Reception to Sixth Form, a WGS education is truly available to all!

A dedicated school bus service offers convenient transport options for families in the wider West Midlands, Staffordshire and Shropshire areas. HELP WITH SCHooL FEES

A generous means tested bursary scheme is available with fee remission up to 100%. In addition, the School encourages students with a talent in Music and Sport to apply for subject-specific scholarships, as well as rewarding academic achievement.
