Experience Authentic and Immersive Exploration

Over the course of a nearly 20-year partnership, Lindblad Expeditions and National Geographic have offered meaningful travel experiences that ignite a passion for the planet and its people. From the moment you join one of our Canada expeditions, you access all the resources that stem from this shared legacy in exploration.

World-Class Expedition Ships

The small, nimble ships in the Lindblad Expeditions-National Geographic fleet are purposebuilt to take travelers to Canada’s wildest corners, from narrow channels glittering with icebergs to secluded bays where grizzlies fish and forage. Each vessel is stocked with first-rate exploration tools, including Zodiacs and kayaks that allow us to sail without being dependent on ports or piers.

The Most Experienced Team

Every member of our staff—from our naturalists, photographers, and expedition leaders to our crew working behind the scenes—is committed to ensuring our guests have an unforgettable experience. Many are veteran guides who have worked with us for decades, chosen for their extensive knowledge of subjects like geology, wildlife biology, and life and climate sciences. Inspiring guest speakers, including National Geographic Experts, also join select voyage.

Global Voices: Visit expeditions. com/guestspeakers to see the full roster of speakers joining upcoming voyages.

Take Great Photos With the Pros

A Lindblad ExpeditionsNational Geographic certified photo instructor (CPI) joins each voyage to assist travelers with everything from camera settings to composition. Every guest—from iPhone camera users to advanced hobbyists—can stand side by side with top photographers, pick up tips in the field, and return home with the photos of a lifetime.

With the complimentary OM System Photo Gear Locker, you can field test new lenses, camera bodies, and more.

Actively Explore Every Day

Our Canadian itineraries feature a range of activities designed to immerse you in the wilds of the Great White North. Paddle a kayak past a sculpted iceberg, hike through an old-growth rainforest, or take leisurely photo walks through colorful fishing villages. No matter the destination, you will be able to explore your way—and at your own pace—every day.

All In: Activities and excursions are always included in the voyage price.

In-Depth Undersea Program

As part of our in-depth undersea program, developed in partnership with National Geographic, an undersea specialist uses a high-definition video camera and deploys a Remotely Operated Vehicle (ROV) that allows us to peer through Canada’s steely waters—up to 1,000 feet beneath the surface.

Footage is shared during daily recaps, inviting guests to witness surprising and unexpectedly colorful sea life from the comfort of our ship.

Commitment to Conservation

Sustainability is at the heart of our mission, and you can travel with peace of mind, knowing every voyage we sail gives back to the places we explore. Together with our guests, we have contributed nearly $18 million to protect and restore marine and coastal habitats through the Lindblad-National Geographic Fund.

Sampling local cuisine is a highlight of any voyage, and we take great care to bring the flavors of coastal Canada to the meals you enjoy on board. Our executive chefs design unique and innovative menus that feature sustainably sourced dishes from or inspired by the regions you visit, as well as wine pairings and guided tastings to enhance your culinary experience. Special onshore culinary experiences, like a mussels tasting on Cape Breton and berry picking in Labrador’s coastal bogs, invite guests to forge even deeper connections with local culinary traditions.

Indulge in Our Wellness Program

Greet the day with a sunrise yoga session or unwind in the spa with a massage, serenaded by the sound of soothing waves. Our dedicated wellness spaces—including treatment rooms, saunas, fitness centers, and more—encourage travelers to tap into the natural rhythms of their surroundings. Treatments are tailored to your individual needs, and each of our fully accredited wellness specialists is also a licensed massage therapist.

9

Safari at Sea The Wildlife of Coastal Canada

Bound by rocky cliffs to the east, misty rainforests to the west, and straits of snow and ice to the far north, the world’s longest national shoreline is an incredible assortment of scenic backdrops with a motley menagerie of wildlife to match—from surly and burly muskoxen to fantastical narwhals. Venture to the most remote parts of coastal Canada for a wildlife safari unlike anyother amid untrammeled lands that are as wild as the Serengeti.

10

Polar Bears | High Arctic

With their enhanced hunting abilities and fur that blends into their icy environment, polar bears are the Arctic’s apex predator. They spend up to 20 percent of their day hunting the calorie-loaded ringed seal.

Black Bears | British Columbia

Despite their name, black bears can be brown, cinnamon, or, in the case of the rare Kermode variety, even white. This elusive “spirit bear” gets its unusual color from a recessive gene.

Arctic Terns | High Arctic

Arguably the most spectacular migrant on the planet, these birds fly more than 900,000 miles annually from pole to pole in search of 24 hours of daylight, arriving in the Arctic for the summer breeding season.

Orcas | British Columbia

Orcas, or killer whales, are in fact the largest of the oceanic dolphin family. These social creatures travel in pods known as matrilines, which have complex social hierarchies with the elder females at the top.

Atlantic Walruses | High Arctic

Blubbery and broad, these mustachioed giants are almost as wide as they are tall—the second largest pinnipeds after elephant seals. They are often found gathered in impressive group haul-outs on shore.

Humpback Whales | British Columbia, Maritimes, High Arctic

At their summer feeding grounds, humpbacks gorge on krill, plankton, and small fish—up to a ton and a half per day. Those reserves sustain them through a six-month fast, when energy is focused on migrating and breeding.

Steller Sea Lions | British Columbia

The Steller sea lion is the largest of the species, with males weighing as much as 2,500 pounds. Their “roaring” sounds drown out the “barks” of their smaller cousin, the California sea lion.

Narwhals | High Arctic

Narwhals can dive more than a mile beneath the water’s surface, utilizing adaptations like compressible ribs to help them withstand immense underwater pressure. These deep dives are one reason sightings are extremely rare.

Beluga Whales | High Arctic

Belugas are among the most recognizable whale species due to their light coloring, rounded foreheads, and ability to move their necks. They travel in groups and communicate through clicks, whistles, and squeals.

Muskoxen | High Arctic

Long-horned and massive bodied, the muskox’s name comes from the strong “musk” scent males emit during mating season. Their shaggy coats keep them insulated; in warmer months an undercoat sheds to keep them cool.

Self-Disinfecting Ships

Lindblad Expeditions became the first self-disinfecting fleet with the rollout of the ACT CleanCoat™ system in 2019. This photocatalytic cleaning process activates when illuminated, continuously breaking down unwanted microbes such as bacteria, viruses, mold, and airborne allergens. The positive environmental impacts of this non-toxic, chemical-free system are many: less plastic in the supply chain and waste stream, and more than one million gallons of water saved annually. The system lowers our carbon footprint and creates a cleaner, healthier shipboard environment for guests and crew alike.
