Since the Lindblad Expeditions-National Geographic Fund carries the administration costs, 100% of guest donations stay in the region. And you can experience the results of our work! Or you might opt to visit Tomás de Berlanga, an open-air school on Santa Cruz that immerses the ‘future stewards’ of Galápagos in nature. And on a more global level, as of 2019, we’re 100% carbon neutral, offsetting emissions from all our ships, offices and employee travel. And we’ve eliminated single-use plastic fleetwide.
Quick look at some accomplishments • In 1967, Lars-Eric Lindblad, father of CEO Sven Lindblad, was instrumental in the creation of the Galápagos National Park Service and paid the salaries of the first two park rangers • Since then, we’ve provided key funding, via our local partners-in-conservation, for the ecological restoration of Santiago, Isabela, Rábida, Pinzon, North Seymour, Floreana and other island ecosystems • Supported vital efforts to protect the Galápagos Marine Reserve • Our pioneering farm-to-table program has provisioned almost 70 tons of organic, local produce since October 2017 • We also provision sustainably harvested fish from local fishermen • Maintained a firm, ongoing commitment to sustainability in every region we explore • Launched Galápagos Island Relief Fund in 2020 with Island Conservation
