Linden Hall

Our sports and fitness program provides opportunities to push your abilities further than you thought possible and to discover talents you didn’t know you had. On the playing fields you will test your physical limits, build stamina, and discover new ways to express yourself with assurance and confidence. You will develop skills that will benefit you in college, in your career, in relationships, wherever you go—skills like teamwork, responsibility, discipline, and leadership. You can be as active and competitive as you want to be at Linden Hall. And if you do find yourself on the sidelines, you will be there supporting your friends on other teams.

Riding Program A nationally ranked, award-winning equestrian team The Linden Hall Riding Program provides quality instruction for both horse and rider that establishes a strong foundation in riding and horsemanship. The focus of instruction is Hunter/Jumper and Equitation based. Additionally, Linden Hall has started its own polo team. Our comprehensive program is designed to meet the needs of a diverse group of girls. Whether you live to compete nationally or wish to get on a horse for the first time, you will find a place in our program. More than 30% of our students participate each year, riding a minimum of two days a week and up to as many as six days a week. Our varsity and junior varsity teams compete in local shows, the Interscholastic Equestrian Association (IEA), the National Scholastic Equestrian Athletic Association (NSEAA), Prep School Champion Challenge, and various United States Equestrian Federation (USEF) rated horse shows. We have competed in Nationals for the last eight years and are one of the top-ranked teams in the region. Our teams also travel abroad to such countries as Ireland, Germany, and Brazil so riders can gain experience in international competitions.

Under Coach Merris-Dolk’s guidance, the Linden Hall Equestrian Team has captured the Regional title, the Zone II IEA Championship, and also won the title of the Year End Zone II Champions several years in a row, allowing the team the right to compete for the national title. ATHLE TIC PROGR AM

Our athletic program is designed to develop physical conditioning and skill, to encourage a life-long appreciation for fitness, to teach sportsmanship and commitment, and to create a strong sense of teamwork. Competing on an interscholastic team builds character and teaches discipline and leadership. Upper School students who do not play on teams are required to participate in a physical activity club each year. Most students take part in two or more sports activities during the year. Middle School students take physical education classes as part of their academic program. The Linden Hall Lions compete in the Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association (PIAA).
