DOCUMENTING OUR DAYS capturing everyday memories at home
hi friends! How's quarantine going?? With everyone being inside, with family, there is no better time document our everday moments and up our photo taking game! Taking amazing photos doesn't have to be a difficult or daunting task. All of the images I'm sharing in this quick guide were taken (and edited!) with my iPhone. I wanted to find a way to connect with you guys during this time, share some fun tips & tricks and hopefully see you put these tools to use while we all have some extra free time! I love you all and I can't wait to see your faces soon! xo, Lindsay

TIP: GET IN THE PHOTO! PUT THE TIMER ON YOUR CAMERA TO GOOD USE AND JUMP IN THE SHOT. IVE BEEN SPENDING ALL OF MY TIME IN MISMATCHED SWEATS, DAY 4 HAIR AND LESS MY LASH EXTENSIONS (MAY THEY REST IN PEACE). BUT IM STILL MAKING A POINT TO GRAB SOME SHOTS WITH MY KIDDOS. I KNOW MY HEART WILL WANT THOSE MEMORIES WHEN THIS TIME PASSES.

HERE'S MY SWEET GIRL WAITING ON HER ICE CREAM AT YOUNG'S DAIRY LAST SUMMER. IT WAS DARK. THE OVERHEAD LIGHTING WAS PRETTY GROSS, BUT SHE WAS *SO* EXCITED AND *SO* SWEET SITTING THERE THAT I HAD TO CAPTURE THIS. THERE WERE TONS OF PEOPLE BEHIND HER SO I GOT LOW TO USE HER HEAD AND BODY TO BLOCK ALL OF THE 'CLUTTER' IN BACKGROUND.
editing When taking photos with your phone, most phone cameras have an "edit" function. Give this a try instead of just adding a filter. When uploading to Instagram, instead of choosing a filter, click on "edit" From there, adjust: brightness, contrast, highlights, and shadows. Those are the main ones that will need to be tweaked, and you will avoid giving your image a filtered look. Lightroom has an awesome mobile option, too.
favorite apps VSCO is an editing app that is user friendly and has several free features! Chatbooks prints all of your Instagram images into date books! I print my cell phone photos into a Chatbooks album every 6 mos and I LOVE it! 1SE (One Second Everyday) App: take a video clip every day, and turn it into a movie. This has been so amazing, and I upgraded to a yearly fee to increase my video length. Totally worth it!
