How to use Issuu – A Simple Guide How to create a book, from a multi-page document, in Issuu and put it on Moodle - Open Moodle - Open the document - Go to Issu Home Page (you need to register to allow you to use – it’s free) - Click Upload Document (on blue line at top right-hand side of screen) - Click Browse - Select which document which then uploads to Issuu - Click Title, enter information on the screen - Click Upload File (wait until “All documents have been processed” appears on the screen) - Click Published (left hand column, under My Documents) - Click on document - Click on Embed <> - Double click on Embed Code - Right click, copy Optional: scroll down to change the colour of the background Optional: restrict public viewing: scroll down to Share, put cursor in no boxes - Go into Moodle, turn editing on - Click Add a Resource - Click Insert a Label - Click on <> (on tool bar in white box, 2nd line, 2nd from right hand side) - Put cursor in white box, right click on Paste

- Click Save and Return to course The document will appear as a book.

How to embed a book from Issuu into Moodle (– see above if you are creating and embedding a book. This option is to embed a book which is already created) Go into Moodle, turn editing on Go into Issuu and log in Search for a document on Issu Click on document Click on Embed Double click on Embed Code Right click, click on Copy Go into Moodle Click Add a Resource Click Insert a Label Click on <> (on tool bar – 2nd line, 2nd from the right hand side) Right click in white space box Click Paste Scroll down Click Save and Return to Course

How to delete a document from ‘My Library’ in Issu - Click on document for deletion - Click Delete (on grey tool bar) - Click Yes 3


How to ‘privatise’ a document in Issu (so others can’t see it) - Go into Issu - Click on My Library - Click on the document - Click on Share - Click on Edit - Click Sharing Options - Put cursor in ‘No’ for each box - Click on the very thin blue line, just visible (hopefully!) at the bottom of the page! - Log out
