After a year’s development involving Avid’s fanatical team of carp anglers, the all-black 12000cc model has a host of clever features combining performance with good looks. At this time of year the weed in most venues will be at its worst and can present real problems when it comes to landing fish. One tool that can significantly increase your chances of landing carp in weedy venues is a lead clip, as this will allow the lead to eject when it comes into contact with the weed.

The coating and inner braid feature a colour-break camouflage pattern. Fox recommends that you remove the outer coating before tying a knot in this material, because it is so stif it tends to break anyway when knotted. MARK PITCHERS – GET STIFF FOR CHODS
I am a big fan of chod and hinged stif rigs, especially for carp over 25lb. The key to a perfect chod rig is to use a very stif material for the hook section, and nothing beats 25lb Rigidity. Its stifness makes it much harder for a carp to eject once the rig has been sucked in and it also allows you to set the perfect curve in the material.

Allowing anglers to tie a ‘fixed’ naked chod rig on fluoro or mono mainline, the bead grips the line very strongly, but can be moved above the lead if required. The bottom sleeve sits over the lead and can be set up in a way that ejects the lead when you get a take. When you hook a fish the bead slides down the line and slots into the top of the sleeve to protect your line during the fight. Six sleeves and six beads per kit.

This allows Fox inline leads to be fished drop-of style on weedy or snaggy lakes. Simply remove the insert from the lead and cut of the thin section, then place the rubber back into the bottom of the lead before inserting the Drop Of kit at the top of it. When you get a take the lead will eject, but the insert stays on the line. You get five inserts and five tail rubbers per kit.
Thread your leader through the groove on the side of the hard plastic insert.

PARAGON RODS GIVE POWER TO PERSUADE
A
RE you looking for a new set of rods in the sub-£100 per unit price bracket?
Then you would do well to check out the new E-S-P Paragon Plus range. All fve rods have excellent multi-modulus carbon blanks with an attractive gloss fnish.
