DIA BEACON This project consisted on designing a visitor’s guide for the Dia Beacon Museum. The key for this project was going there and not just do research about the place. When I was there I felt a lot of peace, and the light all over the museum reminded me of a sacred temple. The limitation we had was that we weren’t able to use any photos.

10
11
HOUSE OF CARDS Nic & Brett gave us a list of TV shows so that we can make a poster series on the one we chose. I chose House of Cards and I decided to represent elements that the viewers will find in the show by using charts and data that politics constantly use.

FLOATING CHAIN For this project we had to make an opening invitation of an art exhibition. The exhibition was amazing, there were a lot of objects that transported you to a psychodelic era. It felt like being froze in time, so I used objects that were used in the exhibition: like cables, rice, etc. and froze them to make the invitation.

RAYMOND CHANDLER This assignment consisted on making a book series for an American author. The author I chose was Raymond Chandler and I made 3 book covers based on the stories, so I wanted to narrate a story with the book jackets by showing a distorted face in the front, and the real character in the back.

RELAX & WAX We had to look for a mail in our spam folder and make a rebranding project for it. The mail that I found was an ad for Mancine Cosmetics. They are a company that sell waxing products and I added a big benefit for users: it doesn’t hurt when you wax due to its relaxing natural ingredients.

DUKE ELLINGTON For this project we had to create a LP Box Set for a designated artist. The artist I got was Duke Ellington, and I felt a personal connection with the project because I live in Harlem. So I came up with a concept of the 5 senses, but I changed smell for dancing.

HARDWARE ALPHABET This project consisted on going to the hardware store and get a tool to create an alphabet. I got a twist drill and used a newspad to practice my alphabet with black ink and the results were great. I loved having to experiment with my hands and stop using the computer.

Historical reference 54
HISTORICAL REFERENCE Based on a typographic historical reference we had to create a book cover. Those organic illustrations reminded me to Aldous Huxley’s Brave New World and because we needed to make another book cover I decided to use feathers for Point Counter Point. Not only did I use the same typography from the other book, but the color tones.

56
57
THE ROOMMINDER SERIES We had to create a KICKSTARTER project and I based mine on a personal situation. One of my 3 roommates is a PRE K teacher and she has put several reminder notes around our apartment, and that made me wonder why can’t those notes be designed beautifully?

LA SERA La Sera means the night in Italian, so I wanted to represent what the nightlife means by using Andy Warhol’s silkscreen series
Ladies & Gentlemen with high intense colors.

73
74
DE CECCO This project consisted on redesigning the original packaging of De Cecco. I used the Italian female icon Sophia Loren to represent the brand, and replace the actual female icon the brand uses.
75
76
77
78
VOSGES I created a pattern of squares that give an air of refinement. I used a sans serif typeface for the logo to give it a modern look.
79
80
81
STELLA Since Stella means star in Italian I decided to use one of Alphonse Mucha illustrations from The Moon and
the Stars collection to represent one. I used black and white labels to add a modern look.
82
83
84
85
86
SWEET BOTANICALS I created a pattern of the five fruit flavors I chose: apple, blueberry, pear, strawberry and orange. I used illustrations that reflect an old fashioned and human look that are enjoyed by the target.
87
88
89
CERVEZA VENENO Poison beer is a brand I created based on a six pack of beer bottles I bought. The shape of those bottles reminded me of magic potions and poisons, which is why I named it Veneno in Spanish because I love Spanish.
