RIVER AS A VALUABLE RESOURCE Flowing across the whole city, the Scioto River is like an artery, connecting different parts of the city together and also becomes the bound between human and their surroundings. Therefore, it provides valuable opportunities for people to explore the city from the perspective from the river, enabling people to experience both the urban and natural landscape, observe both the history and development of the city in a single journey.

THE LEVEE To protect people from flood, the levee was built. However, the connection between the river and people is also broken. It becomes a barrier, block out the great scenery and prevent people from getting close to the river.

BRING THE RIVER BACK TO PEOPLE'S LIFE
A new way of living is peoposed in the design. To build up a close relationship between people and the water through the boat, making it easier to use the boat as a recreational tool as well as a means of transportation.
In this proposal, all interventions facilitate a close connection with water, includes two kinds of waterways, one is dedicated to public use and the other is for private residents.

Convergence is a vibrant, prosperous, and resilient community where all facets of the city come together epitomizing the ideal of Toronto, which means “a meeting place. At Convergence, the urban form of Toronto seamlessly blends with the surrounding residential, commercial, and historic neighborhoods as well as with natural systems of the Don River. It is a place where the rich multicultural population of the city can gather to live, work, play and thrive.
