Lingyu is a graduate architecture student of University of Southern California in Los Angeles (M. Arch 2020), with a B.S. in Civil Engineering. He uses buildings, objects, spaces and media to reflect what he envisioned upon architecture. With passion and intuition on architecture design, he is constantly honing his skills by taking challenges and leading a team to accomplish them. He led the design of 2028 LA Olympics Village in USC Architectural Guild Annual Charrette and has been distinguished as the third place by a rigorous and worldrenowned jury panel, including Thom Mayne and David C. Martin. Lingyu’s co-designed urban park project Over & Across has been awarded first place among other 39 teams from Greater Los Angeles in a unique competition hosted by SOM. His passion and the spirit of challenge have extended and enriched his professional work in various offices in Los Angeles. When he was working at Perkins Eastman LA office as a summer intern, his work ranges in scale from master plan of San Bernardino County project, façade specs drawings and drawing set modification for the Design Development phase of Child and Family Wellbeing Center at Martin Luther King Jr. Medical Campus, to renderings and collages for PE’s office relocation project in DTLA. He developed his conceptual design competency while working at a LA-based design studio STRUERE, where he participated in 900 Wilshire renovation project at Santa Monica and 3700 Riverside schematic design project at Burbank, producing 3D modeling modification, renderings, and architectural drawings.
