Farmers across Britain opened their gates to demonstrate to visitors the industry’s commitment to biodiversity, nature recovery, and delivering sustainable nutritious food in a well-managed countryside.

Why do farmers take part in Open Farm Sunday?

We had nearly twice as many people as last year. There was a real buzz in the farmyard, which is normally such an empty place. We loved the enthusiastic questions from both adults and children.

Open Farm Sunday is a special experience which leaves a lasting positive impression on visitors, strengthening public trust and understanding in British farming.

96% now have a greater appreciation of the work farmers do.

38% said it had inspired someone in their group to consider a career in farming.

The LEAF team helped guide farmers on their Open Farm Sunday journey through one-to-one support, specially designed resources, including the OFS Handbook and sharing best practice online and in-person.

Our fully integrated PR campaign put in the spotlight the hard work that farming’s Guardians of the Earth do day in day out to farm sustainably in harmony with nature.
