Their win effectively ended the decade-long pattern of alternating between Liberal and Parti Québecois governments, and they're the first right-wing party elected in the province since the Union Nationale in 1970. In the midst of controversy around secularism and the tightening of immigration and cannabis laws, other plans seemed to have fallen through the cracks.
