Ⅳ. My Opinion

When I first saw the picture of George Floyd being killed, I was impressed. That picture showed the police knelt on Floyd’s neck and back, and Floyd looked can hardly breathe. I felt breathtaking when I was reading reports about his death, and this is one of the reason motivated me to do this report.

Through those cases I mentioned above, we can clearly see how African-Americans are being treated unfairly. I think it’s harrowing that we can only realize the unfairness between races still exists through people’s death. Nonetheless, luckily, people stopped watching but took the issue to the street this time, and that made those people’s sacrifices meaningful.

I found that the BLM not only focus on the police brutality towards the blacks, but they also commits to diversity and inclusion of all black people. Like what they said on their website, “ We affirm the lives of Black queer and trans folks, disabled folks, undocumented folks, folks with records, women, and all Black lives along the gender spectrum.

I hope that this movement can prompt more and more people to pay attention to the issue of racism and combat the brutality together.

To sum up, let’s build a whole new world with peace and love by putting ourselves in other’s shoes, and take action to make this world better.
