WHAT IS

Benenden is a private healthcare scheme which gives all Lionheart employees access to a wide range of services. These include:

GP appointments Physiotherapy

A 24/7 mental health hotline

Exclusive discounts on a range of products and services

Access to online fitness classes and nutritious recipes.

HOW DO I ACCESS IT?

Complete an ‘Opt-in’ form. This can be found at L:\Trust Useful Documents\STAFF BENEFITS\Benenden Health. You can do this at any time.

Send the form to your school or Trust HR team.

Once the form is processed, Benenden will contact you directly. You will receive a joining pack with further information at your home address.

Using the sent information, set up and verify your account online – either on the Benenden website or through the mobile app. This will give you access to a range of services and information.

WHAT IS THE COST?

Your monthly membership is paid for by Lionheart if you choose to optin to the scheme. As HMRC deem this a benefit in kind, you will pay around £2 - £5 per month in tax, depending on your tax bracket. This is deducted from your monthly salary but won’t show on your payslip.

Once your membership is live, you can add an unlimited number of family members onto your membership for £15.50 per person per month, via the Benenden website/app.

You are able to cancel your membership – or remove family membersat anytime; though there is a 14 day wait before your membership is officially terminated.

Golden Time allows all staff to take up to one full working day* as additional paid leave during the academic year, including term time. Select ‘Request Golden Time’

HOW DO I ACCESS IT? LINKEDIN LEARNING

WHAT IS IT?

LinkedIn Learning is an online learning portal which contains around 20,000 training courses designed to improve your skillset. Every employee has a license paid for by Lionheart.

You will have received a link from LinkedIn inviting you to activate your learning account. New staff members’ invitations are sent shortly after the start of each half term.

You can choose to connect your LinkedIn Learning account to an existing LinkedIn account if you have one (these are two different things).

Once set up, you can browse the library for courses that will help you in your specific job role.

National College is a portal of online courses and webinars centred around education, with access available for all staff.

New users: sign up using the link in an email from National College.

EYE TEST

WHAT IS IT?

Receive a free Specsavers eye test once every two years. This is available for staff members who regularly use display screen equipment.

HOW DO I ACCESS IT?

Ask a member of HR for a copy of the eye test policy and form.

Complete the form and return it to your Line Manager for approval. If approved, you will be given a voucher to present during your eye test at a Specsavers branch. Vouchers are typically valid for one year.

If it is suggested you require glasses, the Trust will pay for any pair in the £49 price range offered by Specsavers.

If you wish to purchase a pair of glasses from the £99+ range, Specsavers will deduct £20 from the price and then you will be required to pay any outstanding amount that exceeds £49.

If approved, you will receive an eCertificate allowing you to order/collect the items listed on your application.

If leasing, when the agreement ends, you can choose to keep your products for a small additional payment or hand back.

WHAT IS THE COST?

The cost depends on the item(s) you are buying/leasing.

If leasing, the total value (inc. VAT) is divided equally by 12 and paid monthly via an automatic deduction in payroll shown on your payslip.

If you leave the Trust before the end of the 12 months, the final amount owed will be deducted from your final pay. You will be required to make a payment covering the outstanding cost if needed.

Submit your application online; it will be sent to the Finance Team for approval.

6 If approved, you will be e-mailed a redemption voucher for the value of your chosen products. You can then purchase online or instore.

7 At busy times of year – e.g. Christmas – you are advised to submit requests as early as possible.

Please note: purchases online through this scheme are not immediate but will be processed as quickly as possible

Your selected gym will provide you with details of your membership, after which time you will be able to attend.

NOTE: Between 20th and the end of each month, the website will be unavailable while that month’s applications are processed The window will open again on 1st of the month.

WHAT IS THE COST?

Costs vary and are displayed when selecting your membership. Payments are automatically taken from your gross monthly salary and spread out equally across the year; this deduction is displayed on your payslip. Once agreed, you are locked into the scheme for 12 months and it is non-cancellable.

If you leave your employment with Lionheart during the 12 months, you will be charged the remaining amount payable in your final pay packet. If money is still outstanding, you will be required to make a payment covering the remaining amount.

You are not required to pay a joining fee when signing up to a GymFlex membership.

At your induction, you will need to fill out a health and lifestyle questionnaire.

Access to the gym facility is free for all staff.

Tailored personal training programmes with a qualified PT, are half the usual price at £15 per hour.

Boxing sessions are £20.
