Katnook Estate Cabernet Sauvignon 2010 Great year for cabernet and this is one of the finest examples. So immensely powerful yet with typical Coonawarra finesse and elegance. Deep and rich with lavish texture coming from the ripe fruit and use of predominantly French oak with a little dab of American. Ripe tannins and fine grained oak feature prominently. There is some typical Coonawarra mint on the nose working with the red berry characters. Will handle extended cellaring.

This has been a consistent wine over the years and often delivers well above its price point. This is one of the better ones from this vintage.
A ‘complete’ wine in every way. Right on the money for value-formoney and with quality that punches well above its price point.

Vasse Felix Classic Dry Red 2011
Wills Domain Cabernet Merlot 2012
This was a terrific vintage for reds in Margaret River and it shows in this modestly priced shiraz. Smooth and velvety yet so rich and concentrated.
Brilliant vibrant colour is the first indication that this is a mighty impressive follow-up to the star of last year’s tasting. Highly perfumed with lifted notes of red berry and violet.
A shiraz cabernet sauvignon blend from Margaret River. In fact it’s one of the most famous of this style and name.
This is such a deliciously appealing cab merlot blend. The mix of dark chocolate and blackcurrant is immediately striking on the nose.

Howard Park Miamup Cabernet Sauvignon 2011
Brookland Valley Unison Cabernet Sauvignon 2011
An elegant and stylish medium to full bodied cabernet from Margaret River. The nose is pure black currant fruit with just a little varietal leafiness and a touch of black olive tartness.
This is a new label from Brookland Valley that sits above the Verse 1 range. There’s an appealing leafy influence and lots of medium bodied red berry carried through to an effortless finish.

Evans & Tate Metricup Road Cabernet Merlot 2011
Such a stylish and elegant expression of this classic blend, though not one normally associated with Margaret River. Sweet fruit in the middle palate and perfectly poised finish.
Terrific wine made for current drinking. Great balance between the leafy red berry and light cedary influences. The palate is seamlessly integrated.
