Deep rose pink in colour, this has a lively floral nose with a red berry influence and a palate that has plenty of fruit-jube flavour. There’s no lingering sweetness here which is a positive and the wine finishes clean and crisp.
From Marlborough, this has the varietal attributes that the region is renowned for – gooseberry and pea pod. Throw in a light body, good length and crisp drying acidity and you have a purposeful young sauvignon blanc that will drink well over the next twelve months.
Delightfully refreshing blend from the home Five Ashes vineyard in Margaret River. You’ll see a bundle of cut grass, lemon and gooseberry here in a long and dry package with an ideal crisp cleansing finish.

This is a bright ruby colour with a waft of kitchen spice, plum and floral notes and it has a flavourful palate of sweet red fruits, approachable tannins and a drying cleansing finish. A drink-soon red wine from a very smart Barossa vintage. Try with grilled snags and mash.

Coonawarra cabernet sauvignon from a warm vintage. There’s some regional mint and blackberry harnessed to spicy oak and it’s all bundled up into a long textural package that has some aging potential. Good price for this premium quality wine.

Bright ruby mauve in colour, this has blackcurrant and dill spice balanced by finely textured tannins and is bundled together in a long and impressive medium-weighted package. Some clever oak handling adds complexity and interest.

One of the top tier of Margaret River chardonnays and from a quality vintage in the region. This has everything you’d expect – stone fruit, citrus, a mealy texture, the smokiness of oak, good length and a drying chalky finish. It’s all good.
1999
Brilliant light red colour with the juicy red berry fruit along with some light spicy oak, earthy characters and good length. Well packaged and priced, you’d be hopping mad (sorry) if you didn’t buy a couple of bottles of this. Bunny casserole, anyone?
$22.99 single Henry’s Seven Barossa
A medium-weighted red blend with blackcurrant fruit, anise spice, a smidge of Margaret River leafiness, smoky oak and tarty acid finish. A little more bottle age will pull all these components together and the wine will drink well over three or four years. Value!

A wonderful sparkler from Marlborough with all the fine features of champagne. There’s plenty of bubble, a lacy froth, singed toast complexity, subtle fruit and a dry palate extending to a flinty river-stone finish.
Laurent-Perrier Brut Champagne (Fr) A distinguished label that is in its 200th year of Champagne making and that’s only one reason for cracking open a bottle. It’s also fantastic fizz with subtle white stone fruit, fresh brioche complexity and has a long dry cleansing palate. Elegant and classy.
