Millennial workers increasingly desire workplace flexibility. Spending 40 hours or more each week in a cubicle is not something most younger workers care to deal with. Increasingly, employers are offering more flexible working arrangements for their workers. Here are some of the leading benefits that come from workplace flexibility. Broader talent pool Employers who are willing to let their employees work from home for at least part of their schedules are open to more talent. Some talented people want flexible working arrangements and will hold out until they get them. Employers who refuse to bend on how many office hours they require limit themselves only to those employees who are willing to work in the office on a regular schedule. More productivity How many people work at peak capacity for 40 hours a week? What about those who work longer hours? Studies have shown that productivity can go down with excessively high working hours. People who have flexible working hours that are tied to their productivity are more likely to be productive. This can benefit an organization in the long run. Better employee morale Workers do not want to be treated like children. Overbearing management that watches over an employee’s every move will not earn respect. By allowing people to have flexible working arrangements as long as the required work gets done, employers will be more likely to see their employees excited to work on projects. Employees will be likely to have a better attitude on the days they have to come into the office. This can pay off in terms of a better work environment and higher levels of productivity as noted above. https://medium.com/@lisadlaporte/4-benefits-of-workplace-flexibility-lisa-laporte-447b2071d2e3

Less stagnation Employees who are not tied to a desk all week are out and about more. They are engaged because they are paid based upon their performance, not because they sit in a seat. Because they are not tied to the office environment, they are more likely to talk to people outside the office and have more novel ideas. Flexible working arrangements can contribute to less stagnation because employees will be more likely to think about work while outside of regular working hours. Some employers are reluctant to allow workers to have flexible working conditions. They are only limiting themselves. Recent developments in workplace strategy allow workers to have a better work-life balance. This can lead to higher productivity and higher morale. That’s a win-win situation for employers and employees alike. Work Life Balance
