BIOGRAPHY OF LEONARDO DA VINCI

Leonardo di ser Piero da Vinci was his real name. he was born in April 15, 1452 in Vinci, FLorence. He died in May 2, 1519 in Amboise, Touraine when he was 67 years old. His nationality was Italian. He was an Italian painter, sculptor, architect, musician, scientist, inventor, etc. He was a famous artist at that time. He is a Renaissance man. His painting and thoughts were affected by Renaissance. He didn’t allow to go to school cause during that time, there were strict rule for children whose parents were not married. Leonardo was


the one of them. When his father and his uncle died, the family fought about who would get their money. Finally, he didn’t get anything because his father and his mother had never married. When he was 11 or 12, Leonardo’s father took him from the little country town where he was born to the city of Florence. He did a small jobs around the artist’s workshop such as swept the floor,...Later, he became an apprentice to a famous artist named Andrea Del Verrocchio. When he was 20 years old, he joined the printer’s guild in Florence. He’s excellent in painting, thinking, invention, design, science and sculptor. His idea about “machine of war”, canals, moats an underwater diving service, machine gun and a flying machine and bridges. He painted famous pictures such as The Last Supper (1495 – 1498) and Mona Lisa. Beside that, he also designed costumes and scenery. He never married.


HOW DID LEONARDO DA VINCI TAKED HIS NOTE

Leonardo da Vinci wrote pages and pages of notes about his work and about the things he saw around him, about his experiments, about the human body, about his inventions. He drew pictures to illustrate many of these ideas. He wrote his note backwards. Sometimes he wrote his note in code. specially things about his note was he taked his note by mirror cursive to hide his secrets and it might have been easier because he was left handed. He was trying to keep others from stealing his ideas so he wrote down all his thinking, new


ideas, experiments in to his notes.


FLYING MACHINE In 1483, Leonardo da Vinci designed the first parachute. Leonardo’s parachute had poles running from the top to the bottom. it was very rigid. More than 500 years later, a man tested Leonardo’s design by using it to skydive. Finally, it worked.

Flying Machine was the best invent at that time and until now. This is an idea to help people can invent airplane and also open new thinking about people can flying. It was born in 1485. It’s an early Flying Machine so Leonardo da Vinci must spend a lot of time in this invent.


MONA LISA

Mona Lisa is a sixteen- century portrait painted in oil on a poplar panel in Florence, Italy by Leonardo da Vinci during Renaissance time. Around 1516, the king of France invited him to France. He agreed. He took his notebooks and several painting along with him. It is one of famous painting during this time. Mona Lisa was painted between 1503 - 1506. Now the picture still keep a big secret cause some people though a person in the picture was a man; some of them though that was Leonardo da Vinci. Until now, they do not have the answer for it. The


picture is in the Louvre in Paris. Sometimes, it steals by someone and it came back again in a museum in Paris.


THE LAST SUPPER

The Last Supper measures 450 Ă— 870 centimeters and covers the back wall of the dining hall at Santa Maria Delle Grazie in Milan, Italy. It represents the scene of The Last Supper from the final days of Jesus as narrated in the Gospel of John, when Jesus announces that one of his Twelve Apostles would betray him. Leonardo da Vinci painted it in 1495 and completed in 1497. Until now, this picture still famous. Leonardo da Vinci must spend a lot of time in this picture. He used his skill and his feeling to paint this picture. All of colors in this picture look very natural and very real. We will have a strange feeling when we look at some details in this picture.


MEETING OTHER RENAISSANCE MASTERS

In 1499, Leonardo da Vinci was in Milan. Leonardo traveled all over Italy for the nest 16 years working for different patrons and then he met Niccolo Machiavelli. Niccolo Machiavelli was a diplomat from Florence. Niccolo Machiavelli helped Leonardo get work in Florence. Leonardo asked to paint a battle scence in a governmetn building. A young artist, Michelangelo di Lodovico Buonarroti Simoni was asked to paint a second picture in the same building. Leonardo da Vici and Michelangelo di Lodovico Buonarroti Simoni did not like each other very much. they often argued and insulted each another.
