COHACOLO Designed in light of the principles of sustainable development, health and well-being, the project aims to revitalize an interior living space located in the heart of Montreal, dedicated for university students. Part of an ecological approach, the duplex meets several important criteria of the WELL certification, known as the world’s first building standards that’s focuses on human health and wellness. This duplex is divided into two spaces. The ground floor, an open-plan area, includes a living room, a kitchen/dining room and a solarium extension, dedicated to the social life of the residents. Upstairs, we find a private retreat, which brings together the bedrooms, bathrooms and workspace.

BAR CONCEPTION The mission was to relocate and design the bar area of a hotel restaurant, considering in its formal aspect and its aesthetic treatment, the integration of the bar with the aesthetic spirit of components we had selected during research done during the first part of this project. The bar that I designed was inspired by two beautiful spaces I personally chose; the Marcus bar and restaurant located at the four seasons in Montreal, Canada, as well as the famous Avli by Tashas located in gate village DIFC in Dubai, United Emirates. For this design, I decided to use three different finishing materials and apply them on the visible parts of the bar.

rd YEAR | INSTALLATION

INSTALLATION This project addresses the theme of everyday places, areas of exchange and communication where deep links are woven between man and the built environment. It mainly focuses on an investigation of the sensitive relationship maintained between human and architectural place, as well as the participation of the body and the senses in this relationship The installation on the famous Ste.Catherine street of downtown Montreal, and more precisely on the “Place des Arts” square, was designed to, as a goal, create an interactive installation that would allow an individual to “touch” a person standing on the other side of the structure with color, using a phone flashlight. Since the pandemic, the sense of touch is very limited. Our device allows us to rediscover this meaning through a new experience. .

FRANK & OAK This project is aimed to work on creating an interior store partition located at the entrance area of a local Canadian clothing store for men and women, “Frank & Oak”. The brand carries a young and hip ambiance throughout the design of their clothing stores. For the aesthetic part of the design, we collaborated with VICOSTONE, a company manufacturing quartz based engineered stones in Asia. The main goal was to expose the customer’s brand, name and logo, using a product of our partner for this project.

SILO 5 This project is located in the old port of Montreal, more precisely on a true emblem of the area : the Silo No5. Now abandoned, the Silo is a gigantic concrete structure, built over a period of more than fifty years and measuring half a kilometer and 66 meters high. The mandate was to design a home located in the Silo. My project is based off of the sci-phi movie “The arrival”, where aliens are discovered by humans and communicate through different types of circles. The circle is the main element of the project since it shapes the exterior shell of the habitat.

LE CUBE For this project, we were assigned to create a 3D object of our choice, taking in consideration the notions of proportion, balance, light, shadow and matter. I used an abstract and sensitive form, using light as an essential factor of my object and using raw materials such as white frosted plexiglass and a thread.

LE PREAU The inspiration for this project came from event installations. As a group project, we had to intervene in an external territory such as here our university campus courtyard, and transform it into a visual and poetic experience, with the objective of creating new places based on the relationship of form and color, in relation with the given environment.
