light, shadow, and the third dimension

design - thesis A study of the interaction of natural light and screens to create interstitial spaces through shadows, allowing for the shadows to serve as the third dimension within a structure. Creating depth through direct and indirect layering of materials, patterns, and screens, and allowing patterns to inform and create new patterns giving a sense of likeness to a seemingly dissimilar and erratic array of objects.
