EP hosts county meet From Journal Staff Reports
EAST PALESTINE —The 111th annual Columbiana County Track and Field Meet will be held Tuesday, May 6, at Reid Stadium. The Salem boys have won five straight county titles, while the Salem girls made it a sweep last year. Action will get under way at 4:30 p.m. with the finals in the boys discus and high jump and girls shot put and long jump. The preliminaries in the running events also will start at 4:30 p.m. There will be preliminaries in the boys and girls 100-meter dash, high hurdles and 200-meter dash. The eight fastest times will advance to the finals. The top eight finishers will receive points on a 10-8-6-5-4-3-2-1 basis. This will be the 46th time East Palestine has hosted the boys meet, the oldest continous county meet in Ohio.
