MARS RUNNING TENT A LIFE-EXCERCING SUPPORT UNIT FOR THE MARS ENVIRONMENT In the future, travel to Mars will become relatively common. The In low-gravity conditions of Mars allowed people can achieve longer distancesto climb higher mountains. However, traveling on Mars can be dangerous also This project is to propose an inhabitable mobile hiking sheltertent for traveler on Mars, to protect them from  in the harsh climate of Marsand to have a nice experience enjoying the Martian sceneries., longdistance outdoor sports will inevitably require a shelter.

Completely different from the Earth though, Mars is still the planet that from certain perspectives shares the most similarities with Earth in the solar system. Analysis and contrast of the physical environment of Mars and Earth are as follows.

CONCEPTS The main component of the Martian atmosphere is carbon dioxide, which is extremely deficient in oxygen, similar to a vacuum.

The surface area of Mars is only equivalent to the land area on the earth, so the land available to humans is very scarce.

Astronauts there could lose a lot of the skeletal and muscle mass they developed fighting Earth's gravity.

Mars has an atmosphere which is creates winds. When these winds pick up the fine, dry particles of dust on Mars, a dust storm can occur.

The Earth's atmosphere and magnetic fields protect us from cosmic rays, but Mars itself has no fixed magnetic field.

SOLUTIONS

need a thermostat.

need an air converter.

need to reduce the land area.

need more exercise.

need a sheltered device.

need gas shielding materials.

ISSUES

The surface temperature of Mars can rise from minus 90° to 27° in one day. The difference in temperature is the most deadly factor of Mars.

FOREST IN CHUNGKING RIGHT-EQUALITY DEVICE IN TWO PARTS OF THE LIBERATION MONUMENT AREA In the area where stands the Liberation Monument class differentiation and format differentiation are rather serious problems, which can be attributed to the difference between vertical heights and relatively single way of transportation. This design therefore is to create a public space performing integrated functions by transforming the original grand staircase, so as to turn the barrier into a bridge between metropolis and its neighborhood, as well as a portal to the city.

SYMBIOSIS LIBRARY IN THE “VILLAGE” This project is basically to build an “indoor plaza” that can accommodate various activities. More than a place for social interaction and independent working, it is a new idea about library that integrate the private space for those enjoying quietness and the public space for social activities, gathering, study, and hanging out. As a public building, it is also a civic park for residents in urban villages to entertain themselves.

FORMULA OF LIFE SOCIAL DWELLING IN LONDON

In recent years, housing crisis in London has become increasingly serious. Hence, this design is about construction of new-dwelling system and restoration of public space, and thus to satisfy global demand for economical and affordable urban housing in an innovative and sustainable manner. With reference to the design of typical town house, the indoor layout should be rearranged to provide a series of flexible and flowing space, so as to increase the efficiency of space use and accommodate more residents.

SITE ANALYSIS

USER'S DEMANDS ANALYSIS

Each city in UK has its own council houses, so I chose two typical areas in London as construction sites where most tenants are poor and vulnerable people, such as the unemployed, single-parent families, and those suffering from mental illness. Substantially, this design is to break the vicious circle of the marginalized living together and help them to integrate into the society.

COMMUNAL SPACES

CONCEPTS

In the 19th century, the increase of urban population motivated the government to study housing issues and further to intervene.

After the Second World War, the British government to alleviate housing shortage strengthened its intervention.

In the late 1950s, UK adopted a mixed system that combines industrial and traditional methods in housing construction.

In recent years, the British government has shifted its focus to the development of affordable housing. step 1 self-built unit

MASTERPLAN

Although all the units in the building are small (6Mx8M), each of them is equipped with an adjusted bathroom, movable partitions, and wall fittings, so that users can arrange the layout as they like according to their lifestyles.

Shared space in the apartment building is transformed from a part of residence area. On each floor are randomly set up communication hall, shared kitchen, fitness space and audiovisual space, generating a three-dimensional pattern for public space.

In summary, the community is one hundred percent a flowing shared space, while people as going through public space, semi-public space and private space successively can find more possibilities to explore social activities.

TYPE OF UNITS

RESIDENTS LIFE SCENE

This project is to speed up and simplify the construction process so as to pile or parallel bungalows and construct low-level but high-density residential communities. In doing so, residents are provided with the largest living space. Monomers are built on modular units constructed with concrete slabs, while prefabrication of openings of windows and doors, and toilet space can be prefabricated by customizing pillars ahead of time.

This project addresses the subject of housing from the angle of the room and the desassignation of spaces. Considering housing as a collection of rooms of identical size, freely networked, without hierarchy and without assignment, leads to an emancipated vision of living and human relationships.
