Border Ranges National Park highlight is the amazing view from The Pinnacle Lookout. The Pinnacle Walk is like no other in the region (0.2km 10 minutes return) & offers dramatic views of the Mt Warning Caldera. The track finishes at a lookout platform with spectacular views of Mt Warning & the Tweed Valley 1000m below.

Border Ranges National Park to Kyogle— Driving Directions 

Exit the park at Wiangaree on the Western side of the park & travel along the Summerland Way southwards towards Kyogle— a scenic 13km drive from the park exit.

Camping is available at two great spots on the Western side of the Park at Forest Tops + Sheepstation Creek .

Pick up a map + brochure of the park at Nimbin Visitor Information Centre.

Kyogle Kyogle is referred to as the ‘gateway to the rainforests.’ Take the opportunity to stop in at the Kyogle Visitor Information Centre (Mon-Sun) and have a chat to the friendly staff who will be more than happy to share with you all the information you need to explore this historic township.

Lismore to Nimbin - Driving Directions

Blue Knob Hall Gallery & Café is nestled below the sacred landmark of Lillian Rock, this quaint co-operative gallery offers a changing exhibition program & a beautiful outlook over Blue Knob Mountain & Nightcap National Park. Open Thu, Fri & Sun 10am-3pm, Sat 8.30am-3pm.

Depart Lismore Information Centre turning left along Molesworth Street. At the third roundabout at Woodlark Street, turn left crossing over the Wilson River. Turn right at the first roundabout onto Bridge Street.  On your right you will pass the Serpentine Gallery, a community art gallery showcasing local + emerging artists. Open: Mon-Fri 10am-4pm, Sat 10am-2pm  At the next roundabout turn left into Terania Street which turns into Nimbin Rd, follow for 30km. Nimbin Nimbin is known and famous for being a hippy destination and alternative lifestyle capital. Nimbin changed forever after hosting the 1973 Aquarius Festival, attracting students, hippies and visionaries from all over Australia. Nimbin is intriguing and quirky with its unique mural streetscape of indigenous, rainforest and psychedelic facades and colourful local characters. Nimbin Candle Factory For over 40 years, this family-run business has been making beautiful traditional, non-toxic candles using essential oils and vegetable dyes. Open daily at The Old Butter Factory by Mulgum Creek.

Blue Knob Farmers Market is on at the Gallery every Saturday 8:30am-12pm.

Nimbin Artists Gallery A gallery run by local artists with locally made arts and crafts for sale. Open daily 10am-5pm. Hemp Embassy At Nimbin’s Hemp Embassy you will find information and alternative hemp based products such as building materials, fashion, body products and vitamins. Djanbung Gardens Permaculture Centre Djanbung Gardens is a living ‘learnscape’ of sustainability in action. Take a walk through 5ha of organic gardens and see innovative natural building technologies, wildlife and bush regeneration. Open Wed to Sat 10am-3pm. Nimbin Markets The Nimbin Markets are held on the 4th & 5th Sundays of the month at Nimbin Community Centre, 8am-3pm. The Nimbin Farmers Market at the Green Bank Car Park are on Wednesdays from 3-6pm. Nimbin to Blue Knob—Driving Directions 

Head North on Cullen St towards Thorburn St.

You will pass the Candle Factory on your right— make sure you drop in and check out the colourful candles made using all renewable energy.

Continue on Cullen St for about 1km and it will become Blue Knob Rd. Follow Blue Knob Rd for approx 6km.

Blue Knob to Border Ranges National Park— Driving Directions  

Continue North East on Blue Knob Rd towards Kyogle/Murwillumbah Rd. Turn left towards Kyogle & continue on the Kyogle/ Murwillumbah Rd. Turn right into Williams Rd & then turn into Creegan Rd which becomes Tweed Range Scenic Drive and takes you into The Border Ranges National Park. Tweed Range Scenic Drive is a gravel road which traverses the eastern plateau of this World Heritage Rainforest area.

Border Ranges National Park Located on the Western rim of the ancient Mt Warning caldera, the Border Ranges National Park offers spectacular views, pristine rainforest walks, waterfalls, stands of Antarctic Beech trees and a variety of camping and picnic areas.
