GENERAL FESTIVAL INFO

EVENT ENTRY INFO

A Festival pass admits you to all in-person Festival events, with the exception of the Louise Erdrich event, which requires a book purchase for entry. We encourage you to purchase and pick up your passes in advance. The 2021 Festival will be reduced capacity and may sell out. Advance passes and information available at literary-arts.org/PBF.

Entry to and seating at Festival events is available on a first-come, first-served basis, and standing in line does NOT guarantee entry to any specific event even with Festival pass. Plan to arrive early to your desired events. Saving seats is not permitted. All rooms will be cleared between events. If your desired event is at capacity, you can check out a different discussion, find a pop-up reading, explore the Portland Art Museum, or take a break at the food carts.

FOOD

Hungry? Local food trucks can be found parked on SW Park Avenue, including: • Ash Woodfired Pizza • Aybla Grill • Café de Crepe • The Jitter Bus • Killer Burger • Pidgin Hole • Pip’s Original Doughnuts • Tamale Boy • The Whole Bowl Plus, visit the touring Gastro Obscura vending machine in the upper Sculpture Garden at Portland Art Museum.

BOOK SIGNING AND POLICIES

Authors will sign books immediately following their onstage event unless otherwise noted. Books must be purchased from a Festival bookstore in order to be signed, with the exception of one pre-owned book per author.

Purchase Festival author books at our on-site satellite bookstores. Annie Bloom’s and Broadway Books are located inside the Kridel Grand Ballroom on the Third Floor of Portland Art Museum’s Mark Building. A Powell’s Books satellite store will be located in the main lobby of Portland’5 Hatfield Hall.

REMEMBER: YOUR $5 VOUCHER IS GOOD AT ANY FESTIVAL BOOKSTORE OR VENDOR IN THE BOOK FAIR!

By purchasing books at the Portland Book Festival, you are supporting the authors and publishers who travel from near and far to share their work at the Festival, as well as the booksellers and vendors who invest time and expense to be at the book fair. Please buy early and often, and know you are supporting the sustainability of Portland Book Festival.

Book dealers are NOT allowed to bring books into the book signing area. Dealers with rolling carts and/or wagons are not allowed on the Festival grounds.

COVID-19 POLICY

All ticket holders, regardless of age, are required to show proof of full COVID-19 vaccination or a negative test result (taken within 72 hours of event date) from a healthcare

provider for entry into the Festival. Attendees may be required to show proof of vaccination or negative test results when entering indoor venues even if previously shown at the box office tent or picking up advance passes.

“Fully vaccinated” means that ticket holders have received their final vaccination dose of either the two-dose regimen of the Pfizer or Moderna vaccines or one dose of Johnson & Johnson at least 14 days before the Festival date.

Also, in accordance with current state and local guidelines, face masks are required. Masks must completely cover the nose and mouth. Gaiters and bandanas are not acceptable. If wearing a face mask that does not comply with policy, we will provide a face mask for patrons. Masks must be worn at all times except while eating or drinking for brief periods. Prolonged periods of mask removal are not permitted for eating or drinking at indoor venues—masks must be worn between bites and sips.
