Robbery at Bethpage supermarket
Nassau County Police are investigating a robbery which took place at the ShopRite supermarket located at 3901 Hempstead Turnpike on Friday, June 16, at 3:30 p.m.
According to police, a man entered the store and placed merchandise in his waistband. They say he attempted to leave without making a payment, but was approached by store security and a struggle ensued. The two men fell to the ground and the subject fled on foot without the merchandise.
The male security guard, 21, suffered an abrasion to his right knee. A Nassau County police medic responded and treated the victim at the scene.

Arrest for illegal gun possession
Nassau County Police arrested an Ohio man on Friday, June 16, for allegedly possessing an illegal firearm.
According to police, officers on patrol near the Econo Lodge, 429 Duffy Avenue, observed Anthony Landon, urinating on a sidewalk. Police say they recovered a loaded firearm from Landon. He was charged with Criminal Possession of a Weapon 2nd Degree, Criminal Possession of a Firearm, and Disorderly Conduct.
