Purpose

The Garden City Central Property Owners Association (CPOA) is a civic organization that represents the residents of the Central section of the Village in the governmental structure established by the Community Agreement of 1919. The Central section is geographically defined to include residents west from Franklin Avenue and east from Rockaway Avenue and extends north to south in accordance with the village boundaries. The mission of the CPOA is to provide a forum for

Central section residents to hear issues directly affecting the village from the central section trustees and various board and committee members.

Central section residents can bring concerns or issues to the attention of the CPOA Board and their respective trustees in order to obtain assistance in resolving those issues.

Purpose

The Garden City Eastern Property Owners’ Association function is to keep residents of the East informed on issues of importance in our village. We do this through our website (GC EPOA. org) Facebook (@GardenCityEPOA), Instagram (@gc_epoa), Twitter (@GC_EPOA), a monthly eBulletin for members, a comprehensive biannual newsletter, and our public meetings. Another important responsibility of the EPOA is to provide a mechanism for nominating candidates for election as village and school trustees

Officers

President: RoseAnn Vernice Vice President: Maureen Dellacona Secretary: Joe Ra Treasurer: Arnold Finamore

Purpose

To encourage better upkeep of the community, secure adequate police and fire protection, maintain better roads and lighting, promote harmony, friendliness and friendship among neighbors. The POA also provides a platform for candidates who wish to pursue election to Village and School District positions.

The WPOA looks to remain our residents’ link to Village government, continuing a working relationship with Village trustees, administrators and staff and bringing residents’ questions and concerns to the appropriate people and departments.

The WPOA participates in the Village-wide POA Student Ambassador program, involving junior and senior high school students interested in learning about Village government and the role of its residents. Students who would like to be involved in the program are encouraged to contact President Vernice at ravernice26@gmail. com.

Since 2002, the WPOA continues to sponsor scholarships for Garden City High School graduating seniors.

From time to time during the year, the WPOA hosts Meet & Greets and Membership events for Western section residents, including 50/50 raffles and raffles for tickets to sporting events. Please check our website, gcwpoa.com, for information on such events.
