Legislators present awards to JHS seniors Upcoming Events at the Jericho Public Library

Saturday, June 24

1:00 p.m.: Summer Reading Kick-Off (For All Ages) - Let’s kick this summer off right! Join us outside the Library for an ice-cream treat (while supplies last), balloon animals for our younger patrons and register for the children, teen or adult Summer Reading Program. Get a starting gift when you sign up! A valid Jericho Library card is required.

Monday, June 26

7:00 p.m.: Teens: Friendship Bracelet/Keychain with the Whaling Museum - Sailors ’ knots have been holding things together for thousands of years. Master one to create a sea-inspired friendship bracelet or keychain to take home or share with a pal, and find out how teens around the world are working to protect our oceans. Participants will earn 1 hour of community service credit.

Nassau County Legislators Arnold W. Drucker (D – Plainview) and Joshua Joshua Lafazan (D – Woodbury) recently recognized several seniors at Jericho High School during the school's annual Senior Awards Night on Monday, June 12th.

Legislator Lafazan presented Nassau County Legislature Citations to honorees Breanna Paris Crossman and Eric Zimmerman during the ceremony. Legislator Drucker presented a Community

Service Award to Sujay Sundar.

“These students are passionate advocates for their community who are dedicated to improving society and the lives of others,” Legislator Lafazan said.

Legislator Drucker noted that, “In just a few short years, Sujay Sundar has proven himself to be an outstanding student with a passion for learning who demonstrates tremendous compassion and a devotion to helping others overcome challenges."
