Syosset School Board plans public hearing on budget

Beach Spring Classic features some of the hottest and most classic cars in the tri-state region. While enjoying live music performed by That 70’s Band and great eats from the Food Truck Corral presented by Eagle Chevy Performance, thousands of spectators are expected throughout the day to get up close and personal with Long Island’s best classic, muscle, antique and exotic cars. Trophies will be awarded in each class, and children will have a say when deeming which rides are their favorites in the Kids’ Choice Award. Car Show Long Island’s 2023 TOBAY Beach Spring Classic is made possible through the following presenting sponsors: Optimum, Bethpage Federal Credit Union, Signarama of Huntington and Whitey’s Tire Services of Brooklyn.

Classic Car enthusiasts and spectators can also grab a bite to eat from the food truck corral, and can also check out numerous vendors and displays. A rain date of May 7, 2023 has been arranged. The Syosset Board of Education will hold its regular monthly meeting on Monday, May 8, at 8 p.m. at South Woods Middle School, 99 Pell Lane, Syosset.

The meeting will begin with a public hearing on the 2023–24 school budget. The public is welcome to attend in person or can view the meeting online at the district’s website, www.syossetschools.org

Attempted burglar y in Jericho

Three men wearing masks entered an occupied Birchwood Park Drive home on Wednesday, April 19, at 5 a.m., but left when the home’s alarm system activated.

According to detectives, a 28-yearold female victim was asleep at her residence when she was awoken by her home alarm system. She went to investigate the cause of the alarm and noticed that her side door was ajar. Nassau County Police responded to scene and an investigation revealed that three unknown subjects, all wearing hoodies, mask and gloves, entered the home and left shortly after with no reported losses at this time. No further description of the three subjects is available at this time. Investigation is ongoing.
