Town helps homeless children celebrate birthdays “Don’t know much about history”

BY GEORGE HABER

The New York State Department of Education is evaluating whether to maintain the state-wide Regents exam in American History for high school students, and many Long Island educators are asserting their support of keeping the Regents exam.

Jericho Schools Superintendent Hank Grishman says that regardless of what a “Blue Ribbon” committee recommends, “American History coursework will continue to be required for graduation in Jericho.”

Oyster Bay Town Supervisor Joseph Saladino and Town Clerk Richard LaMarca recently delivered hundreds of new toys to Birthday Wishes of Long Island to support birthday parties for homeless children on Long Island. Birthday Wishes of Long Island is an amazing organization that serves thousands of homeless children and their families by bringing them the joy of celebrating a birthday and having a party.
