Arrest for attempted burglary

A Uniondale man has been charged with attempting to burglarize the office of the Edgewood Motel, located at 38 Jericho Tpke. on Tuesday, June 20, at 6:25 a.m.

According to Nassau County Police, a 24-year-old male employee of the motel was approached at the front desk by a male resident stating he had a water leak in his room. The employee accompanied the man to his room to check on the leak. Upon returning to the office, the employee noticed the office door had been tampered with. Police were notified and responded. After a thorough investigation utilizing the hotels closed circuit television system, police arrested Juan Monserrate, 58.
