SUMMARY Architecture is a discipline where inherent logic and structure is expressed concretely. It is set in a society and history basis which is influencing and guiding our designing behavior. My work is trying to be established on a solid foundation, regenerate the elements innovatively, with the aim to revive the essence of architecture.

01 HARLERM REDRAWING ďź?ďź? New Community Structure Location: New York, US Building area: 45000 sq.ft. Design Date: 2017.6 GSAPP Design Studio, Academic Group Work(With Zhenggu Zhou) Supervisor: Hilary Sample This project is set in a New York Harlem liner nabourhood, where blocks are filled with old typed brick condos. The aim of this project is to create a new community typology, mainly a new layered truss structure with a gandient from large span at the bottom changing to smaller span on the top. Hense, different programs are allowed to fixed with proper freedom, and the hierarchy permits the openess to the public and the privacy of the dwellers. On the top, living units also share a shared maker space, as well as a flexible unit configuration allowing for future change.

It’s so nice to see these ivy plants when I wake up in the morning.

We have no columns in the building! The trusses can support everything and easy to construct!

10

Finally I have my own room to practice my dancing.

My bedroom will be much larger after removing this wall! I think we can meet at 10 pm in this working area. You won’t be late, right? I know you live here. Tom, why don’t you put down your PS4 and meet your friends downstairs?

I love this swimming pool! It is just one block away from where I live.

Bye, Jenny! It is time for my piano lesson.

I think I can run more 3 rounds!

Cool! I see people swimming and reading here. And there is a dancing performance tonight. Let’s take a look!

03 HYDE PARK LIBRARY

-- Pubilc Library communicate with Light & Nature Location: London, UK Building area: 4000m2 Design Date: 2017.1 Group Work(With Zhiyuan LIU) Competition, Academic Role in Team: Conceptual design, Technical drawing, Diagram Analysis Supervisor: Wenjia LI London has a great reading culture among its residents and a huge interllectural in fluence around the world. The aim of this library is to erect a ‘Public Library in Hyde park’ that would promote reading culture among the general public and visitors. We try to use the tree prototype to create a new-age library typology that would break away from the formal environment of existing libraries of the world.

17

This library is set in Hyde Park, which is the largest park in London and one of the loyal gardens. The site is set next to the Long Water with trees and green surrounded. We choose tree and forest as the prototype to create a structure that is flexible with light and function. And by organization of the units and sets of two layers, the construction occurs harmoniously with the environment. CONCEPT

Hangzhou is under a quick urbanization since 1980. Luojia village was a natural village where used to be featured with farmlands and ponds. As the boundary enlarged, the original land has been taken by the government and villagers are applied to small blocks. Nowadays, surrounding by modern communities, the village has become a exotic place where the feature of village, poverty, untidiness remains. 28

02 ARTIST STUDIO a Salute to Le Corbusier

Location: Hangzhou, China Building area: 518m2 Design Date: 2014.10 2nd year Design Studio, Academic Individual Work Supervisor: Lei WANG(386593579@qq.com) During his architect life, Corbusier underwent a huge change of the world as the developing industry and wars occured. With help of new material at that time, he was able to try different forms to find means of a new type of architecture and freedom in contrast to classics. He called the changeable architecture he created as promenade architecture. However, what is real freedom of architecture? I believe that's what Corbusier was finding through all his life. This project is based on the analysis of Le Corbusier's work to attempt a style of freedom. As many of Corbusier's techniques is transformed and mentioned, this is a salute to Le Corbusier and a digging of his work.

Corbusier used curves with unique personal feature almost in all his works. These curves are used in different scales and locations for different aims: touching, walking, seeing. And it's also a trace that reflect Corbusier's works transformation. In the artist studio, functions of dwelling and office was set in two intersected cubes, and curvered walls was inserted.

How to deal with the relationship of green space and urban complex is the main task. A new type, which is formed by an enlarged green boundary distributing to the complex volume is developed and the nature feature is hence coming to revived in the urban content.

Distributed green type strengthen the interaction and vague the boundary of architecture and landscape. The commercial cubes are set with different forms of roof planting. Roof is curved and cooperated with the inner full height space. The green space hence exposed an influence in the commercial cube inner space.

05 SWALLOW SHELTER ďź?ďź? an aggregation of umbrella

Location: Tokyo,Japan Building area: 9m2 Design Date: 2015.5 Team Work(With Yibo FU, Alexey GOLITSYN,Yangzom WUJOHKTSANG, Xueqi Wu) Tokyo Tech Exchanging Design Studio, Academic Role in Team: conceptual design, detail design, mockup model making Supervisor: Nader Tehrani(nada@nadaa.com), Tsukamoto Yoshiharu(tsukamot@arch.titech.ac.jp) This small installation is set inside the campus to provide a shelter for swallow in a unit mode. The common umbrella is used in construction to build as a protection concept of the 'roof', which is introduced from the ecology of the swallow and the character. By studying the structure of umbrella, a transformation from the original object to a shelter of swallow as well as a delicate geometry is developed.

Swallows usually build their nest under roofs to avoid predators and bad weather. Their number is decreasing in Japan due to human activities' influence which result in a loss of their suitable habitat. At the same time, millions of umbrella are deserted in japan every year, which is a huge loss. With the feature of protection, umbrella turns out to be a perfect material for rebuilding shelter for swallow, with certain transformation. And both of the problem in reality got solved at the same time.
