01 E-REINCARNATION —— It’s an electronic tomb of the dead, a self-recognition experience center of the living, and a storage place of human medical data.
Location: Longyearbyen, Norway
Project Description: Because of the cold weather in Longyearbyen, people built Svalbard Global Seed Vault there. And for the same reason, the buried dead bodies will not decay for years, if they were buried with viruses, it would be a huge threat to people's health. Therefore, death is illegal there. In addition, Long yearbyen was famous for coal mining, so there are plenty of mines here. One of the decommissioned coal mines was used by GitHub for data storage. Inspired by these two storage-oriented buildings, and to meet the needs of local residents, the abandoned local mines were used to set up a data storage center to store information of the dead and the living, as well as human medical data. For humans, we can store medical data in case the end of the world comes, for individuals people can mourn their loved ones and get to know themselves. Live and death are different forms of life. In this project, virtual data has been physicalized and spatialized, to encourage living people to realize self-awareness by screening the personal information they wish to display after death and to encourage the loved ones of the deceased to remember their past in the building by experiencing and recalling the time they spend together. Such experiential remembrances can mobilize the senses and bodies of the experiencers, and evoke their memories by inducing people to remember the past while doing similar behavior.

DATA PHYSICALIZED Self-awareness
This electronic tomb is divided into two parts: information selection and information display. Inspired by the applications commonly used in people's daily life, the designer creates different experiential spaces and information screening spaces for different kinds of information. And through spatial design, the designer induces people to make corresponding behavior in different scenarios, in this way by arousing people's emotions to achieve experiential memorialization.
[ Love Goes Through ]
[ Time Tunnel ]
In this machine, which looks like a telephone booth, visitors can hear the voice and favorite music of the dead. It provides visitors with a separate, immersive space of remembrance.
The social media which was chosen by its owner will be displayed in this space chronologically after the owner die. This allows visitors to look back on the lives of the dead.
[ Memory Cinema ]
[ Life Station ]
This cinema is different from traditional cinemas, it shows holograms and favorite films of the dead to the visitors who come here to mourn their loved ones.
Visitors will receive a personal map showing where the deceased has been. And as they sit in the car, the photographs of the traveling view will be projected on the windows.
[ Reunion Cafe ]
[ Data Market ]
Relatives and friends sit together for coffee while using electronic devices to read the last words of their loved ones. Getting together will remind people of the time they spend together, but the empty seats reserved for the dead indicates that things have changed and that person has gone.
Personal information is classified like commodities on the shelves, their owners will choose what would they like to display to their loved ones after they die. And while the owners review their past experiences during the selection process they would have a better understanding of themselves. 9

02 UNFINISHED PAST ——Kaliningrad culture center, for reconstructing the memory of the city.
Location: Kaliningrad, Russia
Project Description: With two World Wars and the passing of time, much of the old city of Kaliningrad has been lost and the most notable architectural casualty is, without doubt, the imposing and iconic structure of Konigsberg Castle, which was the birthplace of the city, where the House of the Soviet now stands. The House of the Soviet was built to replace it just like the Soviet Union took place Germany. And it is now a legacy of the former government, an unfinished Brutalist style Soviet architecture. By renovating the House of the Soviet into a multifunctional cultural center of the city, this project discusses the relationship between old and new. Concerning the city history and site, my strategy is completely different from the Soviet government, which tried to wipe out the remains of Germany and ignore the truth that there was once German territory. Instead of tearing down the building, I add 7 new-design experience spaces and other functions under the condition of remaining the original unfinished state and style of the old building. It eventually becomes a cultural center that integrates education, exhibition, research, communication, and experience.

Unfinished the House of the Soviet, Brutalist style 1970
The house of the soviet was built at the spot where Konigsberg Castle was. It was built for the government as parliament and the symbol of the Soviet regime of the city, but it wasn’t finished because of the lack of funds. And it is now still standing there as the epitome of history and a part of city memory.

The Königsberg Castle was one of the landmarks of the East Prussian capital Königsberg. The site of the castle was originally an Old Pr ussian for t. After conquering this area in 1255, the Teutonic Knights constructed a provisionary wooden and earthworks fort in place of the Prussian one. By 1257, a new stone Ordensburg castle was being constructed. T he for tress, later de s i g n a t e d a c a s t l e , was the residence of the Grandmasters of t h e Te u t o n i c O rd e r and later residence for Prussian rulers.
After the 18th century, the Kingdom of Prussia continued to expand eastwards, and in 1871, during the reunification of Germany, Königsberg became a part of the Ger man Empire. Moreover, since the Pr ussians caught up with the tide of the two industrial revolutions, by 1890, Germany was arguably the strongest power on the Continent.
Wi t h t h e o u t b r e a k o f Wo r l d Wa r I , the belligerent and p ow e r f u l G e r m a n y saw an opportunity to expand again. However, Ger many was finally defeated because of its inability to fight on two fronts at the same time, and the Ger man Empire also collapsed. According to the Treaty of Versailles, Po l a n d re ga i n e d i t s independence. In order to fur ther weaken Germany, the Danzig Corridor was also to be ceded to Poland. From then on, East Prussia, where Königsberg was located, became an ove r s e a s e n cl ave o f Germany.
The Versailles system s t i r re d u p n a t i o n a l avenging sentiment. And Hitler took this opportunity to form the Nazi Party. In 1939, the Nazis invaded Poland, and König sberg got back to Germany. But finally, Ger many was defeated in World War II. According to the Potsdam Ag reement, East Pr ussia, was placed under Soviet administration. After Königsberg was occupied by the Soviet Union, Germans were expelled, and the city was repopulated with Russians. T hey promoted the Russian languag, and built Russian buildings. In 1946, in honour of Soviet leader Mikhail Kalinin, it was renamed to Kaliningrad.
In 1991, the Soviet Union dissoluted. Lithuania, Estonia, L at via h ave al re ady declared their independence. T hen Kaliningrad, became an enclave again. The Soviets had blown up the remains of the castle and built the house of soviet on the site of it. But after the Dissolution of the Soviet Union, the unfinished Soviet building became a Soviet regime's legacy in the city.

03 EDEN ON CAMPUS —— A c o m b i n a t i o n o f s t u d e n t dormitory and academic building, energy saving design provides better environment for students.
Location: Beijing, China
Project Description: It is a Bauhaus-style campus design project, and the entire building is generated with energy-saving and comfort as the design goal. It is generated by continuous optimization and adjustment of the building through software simulation. Beijing Information Technology College is a school located in Chaoyang District. After many years of development, this school's buildings and dormitories no longer meet the current demand. After thorough research and analysis of the site, the designer found that the whole site has rich landscape resources and it is suitable for both teaching buildings and student dormitories. Therefore, the designers have designed a combination of academic building and dormitories on this site. In order to create a comfortable and energy-efficient dor mitory-teaching building combination, which conducive to natural ventilation and water conservation, during the design process, the designer used software to analyze the site's year-round solar trajectory, sunshine hours, solar radiation, the impact of solar radiation on the site, the year-round temperature, and the flow of wind within the site. Therefore, the whole project becomes more rational.

Site Plan
The building is surrounded by a rich natural environment with lots of greenery and ponds, and in order to create a place that is conducive to students' learning and living, the project will focus on serving students' living and learning needs. In order to have better light and ventilation, the designer made two openings in the north and south of the site to create two inverted L-shapes in the final layout of the general level.

Generation Diagram
In order to facilitate natural ventilation, the designers enclosed the site with two L-shaped geometries in the process of building generation, and the courtyard in the middle is an important activity area for students and an area where air flows through. After that, for improving the ventilation efficiency of the building, the first floor was elevated and the foyer of the school building was designed as a large passage. ①

Radiation & Sunpath Analysis
Because the whole project is designed based on the concept of low energy consumption and energy-saving. By using ladybug, the designer has simulated the solar radiation and solar trajectory of Beijing area throughout the year. Solar radiation is analyzed mainly from total radiation, diffuse radiation, and direct radiation. And by analyzing the dry bulb temperature, relative humidity, and the wind direction of the whole year in Beijing, the impact of the sun's trajectory on the region can be clearly visualized.

Through the axonometric drawing, it can be clearly seen that the building is mainly divided into two large L-shaped geometry. One is for teaching purposes, which provide students with classrooms, laboratories, lecture hall, and a library; and another is for residence purposes, which provides students with dormitories, gym, and common room. Last but not least, there are two important spaces in the building, one is the open-air terrace garden on the second floor and another is the lecture hall on the ground floor. This lecture hall can be used both for teaching and as a public space for student interaction. And the presence of this garden not only breaks the L-shape but also provides an open public space for students to connect with nature. At the same time, this design facilitates natural ventilation, creating a more comfortable and less energyconsuming environment for students and faculty members.

T h e a i r f l ow w i t h i n the site is shown in this drawing. With most of the air running throughout the site, students will feel comfortable while relaxing in the courtyard enclosed by the building. For the academic building, the ventilated foyer and the open garden are the main ventilation paths.
Since LED is a cold light source, it will not pollute the environment. The power-saving efficiency can reach more than 90%.
SUSTAINABLE MATERIALS By choosing sustainable materials, instead of traditional constriction materials, the constr uction waste can be reduced.

LOW-E GLASS Low-E glass has excellent lighting perfor mance, and exc e l l e n t h e a t i n s u l a t i o n performance, it is good for natural lighting.
NATRAL VENTILATION N a t u r a l ve n t i l a t i o n i s a n economical ventilation measure that can reduce energy consumption without equipment noise.
It is possible to analyze the rationality of the building design by simulating the sunlight hours and solar radiation of the building on the site during the year with ladybug.
Water Circulation Analysis
The cleaner water goes through the recycling pretreatment facility and is treated by the inlet water through the capillary percolation pipeline into the multi-length fractionated soil layer for purification and finally into the collection pond for use. The more polluted domestic sewage is non-recyclable and will be collected through the sewer and sent to the wastewater treatment plant.

Temperature Analysis
The analysis of Beijing's temperature during the year can be illustrated as above. It is obvious that Beijing's climate is typical of the north temperate semi-humid continental monsoon climate. Its winter is very cold and summer is very hot. Compared with winter and summer, the spring and autumn here are shorter. However, the temperature in this period is more comfortable for people. Therefore, in order to improve the comfort of people in the building, it is recommended to enhance natural ventilation in spring and autumn and to install energy-saving thermoregulation devices in the interior in summer and winter.

04 GOOD HUNTING —— A s t a g e d e s i g n b a s e d o n Netflix's Love, Death and Robots.
Original Script: Happy Hunting
Project Description: The original rewritten anime tells the story of the Chinese land losing its magic due to the development of technology. And thus, a Hulijing named Yan whose real body was a fox could not transform. She was stuck in human shape and lost her power to protect herself in this technologically advanced society. Unfortunately, she was transformed into a half-human, half-robot specie by the colonists for their twisted desire. Eventually, with the help of Liang, a kind man who was well versed in mechanical knowledge, improved her new body and let her regain the power of transforming into her real body. Even though the old magic might have been gone from th e world, but new magic was made from the machines. The whole story is set in the context of the society before and during China's colonization, it discusses the topics of nature, technology, and human nature. Notorious for seducing and killing men with their beauty, Hulijing is a highly negative image in Chinese culture. But what happened to Yan in the story is lamentable. The whole stage design is mainly based on Chinese elements, the stage is divided into 25 modules that can be lifted and lowered, so the whole stage space is flexible and highly adaptable to each scene in the story with the cooperation of lighting and props.

Yan and her mother were this kind of creature. Liang's father was a brave spirit hunter who killed Yan's mother one night, but with Liang's help, Yan escaped. Liang fell in love with her ever since. Many years later, Liang and Yan met in Hong Kong, by which time Liang has learned lots of mechanical knowledge, and Yan couldn’t transform into her true body, because the earth had already lost its magic. One day, Yan’s arms and legs were chopped off and she was transformed into a half-robot by the Governor. In order to revenge, she came to Liang's help ... Magic Power act1: MAGICAL LAND

act2: HUNTER BE HUNTED This scene is the climax of the show, describing how Yan was transformed. Some of the trunks hanging on the stage are Yan's original limbs and other parts of them are bloody mechanical limbs. Yan's pain contrasted sharply with the colonizer's happiness, she screamed behind the veil, and the colonists either stand on the stairs to watch her or dance, and the whole picture is full of irony and drama.
LIGHT & PROPS
A collapsible staircase, which has not yet been unfolded will descend from above the stage. It will form a flyover where actors will play on it.
The table was a diner table at first, after Yan got drugged, it became an operating table.
Ⅲ

The actress who plays Yan will hang wire and jump onto the iron oil-paper umb the stage. Yan could finally leap from beam to ledge to terrace roof with her true
brella skeletons on e form.
act3: ULTIMATE TRANSFORMATION Since the stage is set up as multiple movable modules, in this scene, the stage is divided into two parts, the upper part is the governor's performance range, and the lower is Liang's performance range. This reflects the class nature of the colonizer society. The steel skeleton of the oil-paper umbrella contrasts with the intact oil-paper umbrella which symbolizes harmony in the first act, a metaphor for the original beauty and now fragmentation.
LIGHT & PROPS
Liang's home was a small dilapidated attic, which reflected the oppression of the local Chinese by the colonists.
The iron oil-paper umbrella skeletons on the stage symbolize the concrete jungle, they are staggered and shiny with neon lights.
