The City of Liverpool College Fashion Show Students, staff, teaching assistants and college helpers are extremely proud to announce that the City of Liverpool College are hosting a fashion show promoting the massive amount of fashion courses that the institution offer. Moreover, the college are holding this fashion show in order to express the proudness of student’s work, and celebrate their individual skill. The fashion show will occur on Tuesday 16th June and Wednesday 17th June. Tickets will cost an extremely small amount of £5, and it will be located at the Isla Gladstone Conservatory. Tickets for this memorable event will be available to purchase from Jan Schofield via her email, ‘Jan.schofield@liv-col.ac.uk’. This will be a significant event within the duration of the college term, and will sell out dramatically quick. Courses that The City of Liverpool College are proud to admit they are able to teach students are: Fashion and Textiles Level 2 UAL Diploma, Fashion Business and Retail Level 3 UAL Diploma & Extended Diploma, Fashion Level 3 UAL Diploma & Extended Diploma, Fashion and Textiles HNC, Fashion and Textiles HND, and Costume Level 3 UAL Diploma and Extended Diploma. The City of Liverpool College are extremely proud to offer these unique courses as they are the only institution in the UK who offer such individual fashion related courses. Individuals from each of these courses will work close together in order for the College fashion show to be as successful as possible, and for it to be remembered by many. The theme of the fashion show is ‘Diversity’. The clothes modelled through the catwalk will visually portray topics relating to: sexual orientation, ethnicity, gender, body size and image, and race. This is an important topic within contemporary society which the College believe will be extremely effective once shown through the power of modelling. The chosen slogan for our fashion show is, ‘The Art of Thinking Independently Together’. This emphasises the topic of diversity as it implies that no matter our colour, religion, race and gender, we should all unite as a team.


Additionally, we chose to use the word ‘art’ in the slogan as the fashion show is being planned within courses situated at ‘The Arts Centre’. Moreover, individuals who study courses within The Arts Centre have been lucky enough to get Liverpool’s local hit radio station, Capital FM, to complete a live broadcast on our fashion show. We hope this will raise awareness of not only our significantly successful college and courses consisting within the institution, but the creative and informative students who attend the college and work hard each and every day in order to constantly build the reputation of the college. Each member of the college have stated that we are going to ensure the environment within the fashion show is fun and relaxed, and will make sure that it is fit for all ages to enjoy. There is also going to be a DJ at the event to maintain the fun atmosphere we are going to have throughout the whole day. Moreover, we have arranged for canapés and a glass of Champagne for elders and Juice for the younger guests on arrival. Therefore, each guest will get the full fashion show experience. As a matter of fact, guests will be lucky enough to purchase garments modelled on the catwalk there and then at the event. We have gained inspiration from famous fashion designers’ ‘see now, buy now’ approach; guests can get the full retail experience. Local fashion businesses, designers, and beauty business based around Liverpool will also have small concessions during our fashion show where guests will be able to go and observe their most successful products, treatments and accessories. Businesses who are attending the fashion show are: Mark Melia, famous dress maker who makes garments for all shapes and sizes, Peaches and Cream, the most famous makeup store in the whole of Liverpool who sell makeup for all skin colours, and She Shea, an independent dress maker based in the affluent area of Woolton. Moreover, we will have famous fashion influencers attending the fashion show, such as: Charlotte Dawson, who is known for expressing her inner self through social media and consistently raises awareness for plus size models. Each of these special guests will be treated as VIPs, and receive a special gift bag. Finally, contact details of Jan Schofield, ticket seller, are explained at the beginning of the Press Release.
