KEEP SOMEONE ELSE WARM THIS WINTER

As the nights draw in and the weather turns chilly, wrap up warm and keep someone else warm too!

Working alongside church organisations and charities, Ribble Valley businessman and Conservative councillor Kevin Horkin MBE has launched a campaign, which he hopes will keep people in need warm this winter.

He is asking people to donate a coat in exchange for 10 per cent off a new Barbour coat from Varey’s Town and Country on Market Place in Clitheroe.

He explains: “We want customers to think about other people when they buy a coat. It would be wonderful if we can donate coats to people in need so we can help keep them warm this winter.”

IT WOULD BE WONDERFUL IF WE CAN DONATE COATS TO PEOPLE IN NEED TO KEEP THEM WARM THIS WINTER

All people need to do is bring in a coat they no longer want, ensure it’s clean and serviceable and it will be donated to a local coat bank run in conjunction with Varey’s charitable partners.

Your donated coat will then be passed on to someone who really needs to keep warm as the weather gets colder and temperatures drop.

Working alongside the Reverend Andy Froud of St Mary’s Church in Clitheroe, it is hoped that a storage facility can be set up for the coats, which will be donated to the needy from mid-October.

So, if you are thinking of buying a new Barbour coat and have an old one to donate, call in to Ken Varey’s Town and Country in Clitheroe to get 10 per cent off a new one. •
