Benefits To Exercise At Home
Save Money The cost of a gym membership is much higher that if you were to invest in a home gym. As you complete your home workout plans, you should keep in mind that the cost of any home gym equipment are typically a one time cost, whereas a gym membership hits your pocket book every single month. I was spending about $600 per year on my gym membership. But when I started working out from home, that $600 went a long way to fund the completion of my home gym. Save Time This is another obvious benefit of Home Exercise. The time it takes to drive back and forth - from home to the gym - adds up fast.
Flexible Schedule ď ˝ This is one of the best benefits to exercise at home. In the past, if I wanted to take a certain workout class, I had to show up at the set times the class was offered. Now, I can do the home workout routine of my choice at any time of the day. Trainer Of Choice ď ˝ Have you ever went to class at the gym only to find out that your favourite trainer is away on vacation, or sick, and the substitute trainer is a total idiot? Benefits to exercise at home include never being surprised again. Your favourite trainer is never on vacation, never sick, and he/she is always available 24/7. Just push PLAY!
Privacy This was not a big issue for me, but I can see how some people might not feel comfortable working out in a public gym. Personally, I never went to the gym to socialize, I was more concerned with just getting in a good workout. Some folks, however, seem to think the gym is a place to meet people. To each his own I guess, but if you'd prefer to workout and not be concerned at who might be watching you, or how you may look in all your sweaty glory - then using home workout programs make a lot of sense. No one will be watching when you are doing home gym exercises. Never Wait For Open Equipment I don't know how many times I'd go to the gym and have to wait for another person to finish his reps before I could use the equipment. There always seems to be that person who can't do more than one exercise at a time. He'll finish his first set, then - he just sits there! He sits, looks around, watches other people, sits some more - not thinking for a minute that someone else may be waiting to use the equipment.
Greater Consistency For many of the reasons listed here, I have found that I workout more consistently now that I have eliminated so many of the distractions. For instance, it's easier to make excuses for why you can't get to the gym, I.e., too much traffic, bad weather, too crowded, etc. By working out at home, I eliminate those excuses once and for all, which has provided improved consistency to my workouts. Cleaner Environment Major benefits to Home Exercise include better hygiene. Let's face it, gyms are feeding grounds for a whole host of germs. While some people do a good job of wiping down equipment before and after they use it, most people don't! You have to assume that every piece of equipment in the place has some sort of living organism on it. At home I never have to worry about the cleanliness of my home fitness equipment. This also lessens my chances of getting sick from sharing space in a public environmen t.
Stay Motivated! ď ˝ Because my P90X program has so many different home workout routines, the variety (not to mention the overall effectiveness) of the workouts, goes a long ways to keep me motivated. The programs are fun, but once you see the actual results it's almost impossible not to stay motivated to keep pushing the play button on your DVD player. Variation To Full Body Workouts ď ˝ One of the greatest benefits to exercise with P90X has been that with every single workout, I'm feeling like my entire body is being engaged. When I was working out by myself at the gym, I was not hitting every muscle group to the degree that I do with P90X. Also, because of the whole "muscle confusion" approach, I am seeing solid gains in my overall fitness results.
