GUIDE ... to home improvement PRODUCT OF THE WEEK

ELABORATE: It’s important to get a ceiling rose design which matches the period style of your home

THE Stanley FatMax FME811K angle grinder (£49.99, Argos) is the perfect power tool if you’re really into DIY. It has a 4m cable, a dust-sealed power switch and a rubberised handle that can be screwed in three different positions depending on the job you’re doing. Cleverly, the handle contains the disc-changing tool, so there’s no excuse for mislaying it. The powerful 850W motor powers through materials, but the FME811K doesn’t come with any cutting discs, so you’ll have to buy those separately.

Create a ceiling centrepiece A decorative ceiling rose adds something special to a room and is an easy way to inject character, says Julia Gray

M

ILLIONS of us live in period properties and one of the joys of doing so is being able to admire their original features. Fireplaces, stained glass, floorboards and sash windows not only make your home more aesthetically pleasing and architecturally interesting, they also add value when you come to sell. But original features haven’t always been so valued – it wasn’t that long ago that people routinely ripped them out and chucked them in skips and, of course, some misguided people still do. If your home has been stripped in this way, you probably want to put some of the features back. A quick and easy way to give a room more character is to fit a decorative ceiling rose, particularly if it already has

coving or cornicing, as the two look lovely together. There are lots of different ceiling-rose designs, so it’s important to get one that matches the period of your home and the style of the light fitting. You probably don’t want an intricate Victorian-style rose with a contemporary ceiling light, for example. You also need to consider the

CHARACTER: There are ceiling roses in all sizes to suit every style

proportions of the room – the bigger it is and the higher the ceiling, the larger the ceiling rose can be without looking out of proportion – and the style of the coving or cornicing already there, or that you plan to fit. Plain coving obviously goes best with a plain ceiling rose, such as one with concentric circles, and more elaborate designs suit each other. Ceiling roses are available in different materials, so that’s another important consideration when buying one. By far the easiest type of rose to fit is an expanded polystyrene one because it will be extremely lightweight – all you need is suitable adhesive. Polystyrene roses come in a fairly limited range of designs, though, so for more choice, you need to go for a heavier material. Roses were traditionally made of plaster, and modern replicas of original designs are available, but like anything made of plaster, they’re very heavy. Plaster roses are so heavy, in fact, that it pays to get a professional to put them up, because they could injure or even kill someone if they weren’t fitted properly and fell down.

If you want to fit the rose yourself, and have a wide range of designs to choose from, the best option is a material that’s in between very lightweight and very heavy, such as hard cellular resin or polyurethane. These roses come in all shapes and sizes (although the largest roses tend to only be available in plaster) and are straightforward to fit. They can be glued with suitable adhesive, or glued and screwed, which is the most secure method. Screwing the rose into the ceiling joists above (the screws can be countersunk and filled over for a neat finish) gives the most secure fixing and allows the adhesive to set properly, but it is more complicated than just sticking the rose in place. Some decorative ceiling roses can be fitted over the white plastic rose that conceals the electrical connections on the ceiling, which makes the job easier to do. However, fitting many decorative roses involves removing the white plastic rose and doing some basic electrical work. If you’re not confident about doing this yourself, get a qualified electrician in because you should never take chances with electricity.

Top Tip IF YOU’VE had a room or rooms recently re-plastered, the plasterer will have used metal corners for the outside corners. These give a perfect edge but are hard to paint over with emulsion. The solution is to prime the metal first – I find that Ronseal One Coat Multi-Surface Primer (£9.80 for 750ml, www.uktoolcentre.co.uk) works really well. It’s nice to use and dries quickly, enabling you to apply your topcoat in no time. It’s also an extremely useful product to keep in your shed, garage or workshop because it can be used on tiles, melamine, wood, UPVC, MDF, plaster and brick as well as metal, so it comes in handy all the time and can replace several other products, saving you money and storage space.

MILESTONES FOR MAJOR DEVELOPMENT WITH show homes opening this weekend (January 12 & 13) and the first residents soon to move in, an £80 million housing development in Merseyside is beginning to take shape.

Award-winning housebuilder Redrow is committed to creating a new community at the site formerly occupied by Thingwall Hall, in Thingwall Lane, where it plans to build up to 525 homes.

people at a time.“Everyone workingon sitetakes pride in their work and as people see the first phase beginning to take shape we’re receiving an increase in enquiries from potential purchasers.

It represents a significant investmentfrom Redrow and will bring major benefits to the local economy. Along with the new homes, the development will bring employment opportunities for construction workers and contributions will be made to improve transport links and public open space.

“We’re preparing to celebrate two major milestones of the development –this weekend (January 12 & 13) we’ll be opening the doors to two show homes so that people can appreciate the different layouts and the quality and finish of the properties, plus it won’t be long before the first residents move in.”

Work on the development, known as Summerhill Park, began last year and homes in the first phase, called The Avenue at Summerhill Park, went on sale in the summer.

Nine customers have had the confidence to reserve properties at the Avenue at Summerhill Park ‘off plan’. Many more are eagerly awaiting the opening of the three-bedroom Letchworth and fourbedroom Oxford show homes before making a commitment. Redrow has also taken several ‘early bird’ reservations from those who are keen to live in specific homes within the development.

Plus, if you are buying early in the build process you have more likelihood of being able to personalise the interior,” Steve added. “Those who buy now will be able to be part of a blossoming new neighbourhood and help shape the community for the future. It really is an opportunity not to be missed.”

“There’s a real buzz about Summerhill Park and people are really excited about the show homes opening. One of the advantages of buying in a development’s early stages is that there are more properties to choose from and buyers have a

Along with the new homes, Redrow is providing on-site public open space including a network of landscaped green corridors. The developer will also be making a contribution to the local authority to improve public open space within the borough.

Steve Greenhalgh, regional director for Redrow Homes (Lancashire), commented: “We’ve come a long way since we first announced plans to build on the site of the former Thingwall Hall and remain as committed to the regeneration of the area as we did at the start. We will be building here for the foreseeablefuture and anticipate that thefinal homes will be completed after 2020. During that time we will be providing employment for an average of 50

... to interiors

Give your home a Prepare your needle and thread frill-seekers – it’s time to get crafty and give your home a creative makeover. Craft connoisseurs Rachelle Blondel and Tif Fussell tell Matthew Isard about their new book, Granny Chic

T

HE first thing you notice about Rachelle Blondel and Tif Fussell’s homes is how warm and welcoming they are. Bright, floral patterns and a charming and eclectic array of hand-crafted furnishings, knick-knacks and vintage furniture make up the decor, creating an inviting, cosy feel that somehow manages to encapture contemporary style and comforting nostalgia. Rachelle and Tif are both established bloggers in the crafts world (Tif has dottieangel.blogspot. com while Rachelle has talesofted andagnes.blogspot.co.uk), and their own homes are testament to their skill. Peeking around Rachelle’s farmhouse in Yorkshire, or Tif ’s stateside mock Tudor home, not a single room doesn’t have one of their own creations added to it, from patchwork blankets, crocheted tea cosies, and reupholstered furniture. Now, the friends are sharing their home-style secrets and ideas in a new book called Granny Chic. Based on their own interiors, it’s packed full of ‘recipes’ for crafty creations, from knitted bunting and patched-fabric lampshades to lacy doilies. Rachelle and Tif have always been creative types, even preferring

colouring pencils and embroidery to traditional toys when they were kids, but they’d encourage anyone to give it a go. “Believe you me, we both have cupboards of shame where the abandoned projects are hidden,” says Rachelle. “But you learn each time and practice does make perfect.” And the benefits are endless. Granny Chic harks back to the make-do-and-mend ethos, and getting crafty in your home can help save money. Instead of throwing away tea towels, clothes hangers, and old chairs they can be kept and transformed into kooky centrepieces. More importantly, it’s fun and rewarding. “Proudly holding up something you have made yourself is a most satisfying feeling,” says Rachelle. “There has also been many a time when it has been a practical problem-solver to make something, when money is tight or you really can’t find just the right thing you’re looking for. “We also love that individual feel that crafting and making things gives. It can also be a bit of a lifesaver and has seen us both through some really low times when a bit of mindless stitching, shuffling furniture or hooking can transport you away from the murky depths.” Being short of time needn’t stop you getting creative – after all, it doesn’t matter how long a project takes. “And crochet squares or small pieces of stitching can be carried with you and whipped out and worked on for five minutes,” adds Rachelle. “If you want to do it you will find the time.” The book also features photos from both authors’ homes, providing inspiration for your own decor and insight into their personal style. When it comes to furniture, Rachelle and Tif like to mix and match modern pieces with vintage finds and regularly go out to find something with a bit of history. “We prefer to scout out the real thing, along with bashed-in corners, rusty bits, chips and dents. This is what gives it its story – where it has been, who it belonged too,” says Rachelle. And the title, Granny Chic, couldn’t be more perfect. “Our grannies’ houses were a safe haven as children, and full of wonder and delight and things you weren’t allowed to touch! “But for us it’s a way of presenting these pieces in a fresh way with clean lines and mixing it up with modern furniture. It’s what makes granny chic both comforting but exciting.” Feeling inspired? Here are two ‘recipes’ from the book to get you started...

EW City Vision (NCV) is transforming part of Norris Green with a development offering a range of house styles, plus a wealth of ways to help buyers onto the property ladder. With a choice of spacious, three and four bedroom houses available in an attractive, landscaped location, plus a number of ways to help buyers become homeowners, it’s easy to see why NCV’s Ellergreen development is proving popular. A total of 28 new homes were sold here in 2012. Sales were given a further boost in September, when the three-bedroom Stanley show home opened. “The new Norris Green is Ellergreen and it is definitely worth a closer look,” says Louise Craven, NCV sales manager. “With the incentive schemes, a new, threebedroom home at Ellergreen could cost as little as £83 per week. And, with Zoopla area stats showing that average rentals in the area are £498 per calendar month, buying is now cheaper than renting.” She continues: “We even offer a rent-to-buy scheme which allows people the time to save their deposit, whilst living at Ellergreen. We’re urging all homebuyers to come and talk to us as soon as

GET CRAFTY: Granny Chic is full of ideas and tips for making unique items which can be used to brighten up your home or for gift ideas A MOST SENSIBLE FABRIC RUG... “One morning I awoke with the notion that I would indeed pull up the wood effect lino that furnished our kitchen and hallway floors and paint them a delightful manor house grey...” Rachelle writes. “Happy as I am with the result, I needed a little something to break up the colour and protect the floor from certain members of the household who are unable to use the door mat. So, unable to find a suitable rug, I decided to make this rather hard-wearing fabric one that would indeed have taken pride of place in our grannies’ hallways.” Ingredients: Non-slip rug backing A sturdy piece of fabric or pieces of fabric patched together Fabric glue Fabric scraps and doilies, lacy bits or other embellishments that catch your eye Fancy coloured thread Matt varnish

Your handy dandy sewing kit Method: Measure the exact size that you would like your rug to be and cut this size out of the non-slip rug backing. Using this as a template, lay it onto the wrong side of your chosen fabric and draw around the non-slip backing. Mark a 5cm border around it. This is your cutting line. Cut out the fabric, following the line, then remove the non-slip rug backing template. Fold over the 5cm border, as if making a hem, and press well so that you have a sharp edge. Glue the border down, making sure you get plenty of glue on the edge to prevent the fabric fraying. Leave to dry completely. Turn to right side, then glue or stitch on patches of fabric, fancy stitches, a doily or whatever takes your fancy. When you are happy with your rug, paint it with the first coat of varnish, working it well into the fabric. Leave to dry. Turn the rug over and varnish

the underside. This gives the rug a little more protection and stability. Repeat the last two steps at least four times, or more if you would like a very long-lasting and well-wearing rug. Once the rug is completely dry, tack the prepared non-slip rug fabric to its underside and lay it on the floor. Admire, keeping a close eye out for any wayward animals who may feel it’s a suitable place to rest! Just a note: Keep your rug clean with a quick lick of the mop and swift sweep of the brush. No soaking or washing... that just wouldn’t do!

A PERFECTLY ROUND CUSHION “In my opinion there is nothing nicer than a perfectly round cushion. They are suited to all sorts of locations around your abode but are especially at home on top of a freshly painted stool,” writes Rachelle.

ESIGNED and built by the current owner, this detached family residence is situated within the heart of Mossley Hill. Accessed via two sets of electronically operated gates, the property is surrounded by substantial gardens and the accommodation is set over three floors. On entry, a hall opens to a stunning reception hallway with an elegant, sweeping staircase leading to the first floor, a marble fireplace and under floor heating. Off the hallway is a sitting room, with ornate fireplace; a spacious lounge with double-aspect sash windows and an impressive, full height atrium orangery which boasts French limestone floor with underfloor heating. The ground floor also includes a family room, wc, utility area and a bespoke kitchen. Hand crafted, the kitchen benefits from granite work surfaces, Belfast sink, Aga Range with canopy over, oven and hob. ETTING onto the property ladder can be a difficult task, but one Merseyside couple found the perfect solution with leading local homebuilder, Taylor Wimpey North West. Andrew Crabb and partner Tracy Liptrot have recently purchased their dream home at Speakman Gardens, in Prescot, through Taylor Wimpey’s NewBuy scheme. The couple bought a threebedroom Hemsworth, a stunning and spacious townhouse boasting an array of attractive features. Andrew comments: “We’re delighted with our new home, it’s in a perfect location for Tracy’s work and it’s a nice, peaceful area. The home-buying process was really easy and straightforward and helped further by the friendly, efficient staff. “We tried to purchase a house 12 months ago, but the property needed a lot of work doing to it. With Taylor Wimpey, we only had to put down a 5% deposit and the house didn’t need modifications, only our personal touch.” The Government-backed NewBuy scheme offers credit-worthy property-seekers the chance to purchase a new home up to the value of £500,000 with a 95%

(And just think what you could do with that.)

FABRIC RECIPES: Rachelle Blondel’s dining room, and right, Granny Chic

LIVERPOOL ECHO LIVERPOOL POST METRO QUIDS IN

Ingredients: A large piece of paper A round cushion pad Scraps of fabric A square of base fabric 2 spiffy buttons big enough to cover the centre gathering of your cushion

Buy a second-hand home and, on average, you’ll spend £22,000* on getting it just the way you want it. You’ll also spend an average of £28,000** on a deposit, stamp duty and solicitor’s fees. That’s £50,000 you need to find at a time when finding any amount isn’t easy. But buy a new home through smartnewhomes.com (we’ve got more than anyone else from builders across the country - and tons of deals too) and you could keep that money for yourself. A new home needs no maintenance - and because we have all the latest deals, you could have your deposit and fees paid too.

It’s all part of the service from the site with more new homes than anywhere else (and a whole lot of other smart stuff too).

Your handy dandy sewing kit Method: Place your cushion pad on a large piece of paper and carefully draw around it to create your template. Add 1cm around the edge for your seam allowance. This is your cushion back template. Measure around the outside edge of your cushion pad and add 2cm for seam allowance. This is the length of your fabric scraps. Divide the diameter (measure across the centre from edge to edge) in half and add 1cm. This is the width of your fabric scraps.

Place your cushion back template onto your base fabric and cut around it. Cut your fabric scraps to the correct width and then stitch up your scraps into a long strip, making sure they are the correct length. Press all the seams flat. Stitch the short ends of the strip together to create a tube and press the seam. Pin a long edge of the strip around the edge of the base fabric. You may also wish to tack the fabric at this stage. Stitch around the edge, clip the seams and press. Turn your cushion cover to the

right side and lay your pad onto the wrong side of the base. Taking a double length of strong thread, sew small stitches along the top of the fabric, gathering your stitches as you go. Gather all the stitches up tightly and secure. Thread a button onto the needle and stitch through to the centre of the back of the cushion. Pull the thread tight and then secure. Cover these stitches with another button, doily or something else that takes your fancy, smooth out the fabric and place somewhere for all to admire.

Just a note: If you wish, you can use one long strip of fabric instead of scraps. Just cut it to the correct width and length and follow the steps accordingly, or add a doily or round of fabric instead of a button. ◆ Granny Chic by Tif Fussell and Rachelle Blondel, with photography by Catherine Gratwicke is published by Kyle Books, priced £16.99. The fungus was unknown in Britain until early last year. The first case was confirmed in ash plants in a nursery in Buckinghamshire, in a consignment which had been imported from the Netherlands. More than half are mature woodland areas which were most likely infected by spores blown from continental Europe or Norway in the wind, rather than by diseased young trees imported from abroad, experts said. But how can you tell if the ash in your own garden is infected?

Catalogue closes 18 January DEADLY: A Forestry Commission notice on an ash tree infected with Chalara Fraxinea Dieback, and inset, the symptoms of the fungus kills young ash trees very quickly, while older trees tend to resist it for some time until prolonged exposure causes them to succumb as well.

How is it carried?

Local spread, up to 10 miles, may be via wind. Over longer distances the risk of disease spread is most likely to be through the movement of diseased ash plants.

What are the symptoms?

Dead or dying tops of trees, most

easily seen throughout summer; wilting leaves, most visible in spring and early summer; lesions and cankers on stems/branches/shoots, visible throughout the year; dieback of leaves with brown/black leaf stalks, seen throughout summer; fruiting bodies on fallen blacked leaf stalks, visible June to October; staining of wood under bark lesions, visible throughout the year. Best Of The Bunch Viburnum tinus (Laurustinus) THIS useful bushy evergreen, which grows up to 3m (10ft) in height and width, bears flattened clusters of perfumed white flowers which burst open in late winter and spring. It also has attractive dark green, glossy leaves and black berries. Among the best are the types which have pink buds, such as V. tinus ‘Eve Price’ or ‘Gwenllian’, which bring a warm hue to gardens during the colder months. If you’re looking for an alternative viburnum for winter, go for V. fragrans (V. farreri), which produces scented white flowers from November to February. These plants are ideally grown in full sun in any fertile, moist but well-drained soil containing ample humus. They don’t need to be pruned apart from shortening overlong shoots which spoil their outline, or cutting back old or damaged branches in May. They also act as a good backdrop for the coloured winter stems of dogwoods.

trees as they emerge into leaf, watching for symptoms.

Is there a cure?

No. Once infected, trees can’t be cured. However, not all trees die of the infection. Some are likely to have genetic resistance.

What about newly planted ash trees?

The Forestry Commission advises people to check on any young trees planted in the last five years and is

urging gardeners to buy disease-free stock from reputable suppliers.

How can I protect ash trees in my garden?

To reduce spread of the disease, remove all ash leaf litter from around the trees in the autumn and winter to reduce the local source of spores the following summer. It is thought that leaf removal, possibly coupled with the lower humidity

Things to do this week ● Check overwintering fuchsias in the greenhouse to ensure they are getting as much light as possible and are not becoming leggy. ● Buy broad beans for sowing under cloches at the beginning of next month. ● If your seed and potting compost is kept in a cold place, bring it into the greenhouse several days before use to give it time to warm to the greenhouse temperature. ● Snip off the dead heads of pansies and trim back any dead stems – they will soon come back to life again. ● Place young strawberry plants outside for four to six weeks, giving them a necessary cold spell before they are forced in February. ● Apply fatty acid-based winter washes to dormant fruit trees to control overwintering eggs of aphid, apple sucker and scale insect.

● Harvest sprouting broccoli, Brussels sprouts and leeks. ● Lift Jerusalem artichoke tubers for cooking. ● Cut off old leaves of hellebores that produce flowers from ground level (including Helleborus x hybridus and H. niger) to expose the flowers and remove possible foliar diseases such as hellebore leaf spot. ● Sow sweet peas inside a heated propagator, in long tubes filled with compost (toilet and kitchen rolls make good tubes). ● If you’ve prepared your vegetable patch for this year with winter digging, cover the soil with black polythene to warm it up for sowing veg in spring. ● Prune standard apple and pear trees. ● Order seed from catalogues, especially if you want a wider choice of unusual varieties.

The discovery early last year that it was in the UK, thought to have arrived on imported ash trees and blown as spores from the continent, has prompted fears of similar devastation as that wrought by Dutch elm disease in the 1970s. The control plan unveiled by the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs in December includes measures to reduce the disease’s spread, by funding research on the production of spores at infected sites and working with other European countries to develop resistant trees. The import and movement of ash trees has been banned. There are also plans to accelerate the development of a tree health early warning system using volunteer groups, and to support a biosecurity-themed show garden at this year’s Chelsea Flower Show. A task force asked to assess the current tree disease threats to the UK and what can be done about them has made initial recommendations for a risk register for tree health and for measures to reduce the chances of diseases spreading at UK borders and within the country.

A significant loss of ash trees could hit many of Britain’s rarest insects which live in ash trees. Lichens and mosses, which grow on its bark, would also be hit.

GET your notebook out and start planning your vegetable garden on paper before ordering your seeds, consulting the family first so you know just what they’re prepared to eat! Ideally, try to include veg from each of the main crop groups – brassicas, leafy salads, roots and legumes (peas and beans) – and plan your crop

rotation, so that no crop is grown in the same spot two years running. This will help to avoid root pests and diseases. While digging in plenty of organic matter is always a good starting point, avoid putting root crops into newly manured ground, which can lead them to ‘fork’.

3 ways to ... Succeed with peas

1

Start hardy varieties outdoors in late winter under cloches or in a cold frame in pots.

2

Keep peas moist while they’re growing because they like cool conditions. Give them some shade in midsummer.

3

Space seeds carefully because peas don’t like to be overcrowded.

New mortgage deals offer first time buyers a boost HOPES for struggling mortgage borrowers with smaller deposits have been boosted, as two major lenders announced new deals. Barclays said that from Monday, it will offer a mortgage allowing parents to help their children get on the property ladder with a deposit of just 5%. Meanwhile, Yorkshire Building Society, which is the UK’s second largest mutual, announced rate cuts across its mortgage range of up to 0.35%, taking it to the top of “best buy” tables. Under the terms of Barclays’ “family springboard” mortgage, parents stump up 10% of the purchase price of the property, which is not handed over to their child but kept in a separate savings account linked to the mortgage. This means that their child then qualifies for a three-year fixed-rate

SUPPORT: Two new deals from lenders may help first-time buyers to get on the property ladder deal at 4.69% with a 5% deposit. The deal means that, for example, someone buying a home at £160,000 would need to save £8,000 for a 5% deposit and require a mortgage of £152,000 and their family would

need to put £16,000 into a savings account. Based on a 25-year repayment mortgage, the mortgage payments would be £861.34 a month. Currently, first-time buyers typically need to raise a 20% deposit to get on the property ladder, and the Council of Mortgage Lenders (CML) has said that recent estimates have found that only 34% of first-time buyers in the UK have bought their home unassisted. Barclays will give parents their money back with interest when the deal comes to an end, provided that the mortgage payments are up-to-date. Interest is paid at the bank rate plus 1.5%, which would currently amount to interest of 2%. The deal also carries a £499 fee. Barclays said it is also slashing the rates on its range by up to 1%

and offering some of its cheapest ever deals. The bank said that the Government’s multi-billion pound Funding for Lending scheme, which was launched in August to boost borrowing by giving lenders access to cheap finance, has enabled the rate cuts, along with continued low interest rates. The scheme has prompted a mortgage price war with several lenders slashing their rates, although much of the strongest competition so far has been to attract borrowers with bigger deposits. Rachel Springall, spokeswoman for financial information website Moneyfacts, said: “The majority of low rates on the market today are aimed at customers who can raise a high deposit, such as 40%, so first-time buyer packages will be much welcomed.” She said that the poor returns

currently being offered to savers across the market mean that some families may decide to use their extra cash to help their children on to the property ladder, provided they can afford to lock the money away for three years. Yorkshire’s new range includes a deal for borrowers with a 10% deposit fixed at 3.79% for two years. A spokeswoman for the society said that while it has signed up to the Funding for Lending scheme, it has yet to draw down funds. She said that the rate cuts came about due to a desire to offer very competitive deals. Ms Springall added: “Yorkshire’s 3.79% two-year fixed-rate is now the market-leading rate for a 10% deposit, however, you do need to raise a £995 fee. They are also a trusted brand so borrowers may look favourably towards getting a deal with them.”

Wise up on ash As ash dieback continues to threaten the future of Britain’s ash trees, Hannah Stephenson examines the problem and offers a guide showing gardeners what to look out for in their own trees

What is the situation in the UK?

The fungus was unknown in Britain until early last year. The first case was confirmed in ash plants in a nursery in Buckinghamshire, in a consignment which had been imported from the Netherlands. Since then, more infected plants have been confirmed in nurseries in a wide range of locations in England and Scotland. Experience on the continent indicates that it

SH dieback was the big environmental story of 2012 – and the deadly fungus Chalara fraxinea threatening to blight our ash and so change the face of our countryside is not about to drift away in 2013. In December, Government figures revealed that the number of infected sites had more than doubled to 291 compared with the previous month.

◆ Granny Chic by Tif Fussell and Rachelle Blondel, with photography by Catherine Gratwicke is published by Kyle Books, priced £16.99. ... to interiors

Redrow has also taken several ‘early bird’ reservations from those who are keen to live in specific homes within the development.

greater chance of securing a home in their preferred position.

GUIDE ... to home improvement PRODUCT OF THE WEEK
