the buildings are assembled around a public space. according to Gehl (1987), in site planning, people and activities are dispered when buildings are places at great distances from one another. public spaces are supposed to be built as compact as possible, the distances for pedestrain traffic and sensory experience are as short as possible. building projects around a square should have a limited number of inhabitants so there is enough room for everyone around the square; and should have low story height to make sure enough daylight. coop housing saettedammen, north of copenhagen (1970)

SITE DESCRIPTION

BACKGROUND

This site is located in the central ward of liverpool, and it is close to the university of liverpool. this project is under the construction and will be finished in 2019.

BACKGROUND

BRIEF INTRODUCTION

Title: A residential box

Since being named European capital of culture in 2008, Liverpool has regenerated and transformed itself into a worldclass destination. ÂŁ1billion has been invested to Paddington village, which is located at the eastern gateway to the city

Time: 2018.11-2019.01

centre. This area will be a great place to live, work and socialize. Some residential buildings will be built in the southern part of Paddington village. I want to design some three-storied detached houses in the residential area. Minimalism: less is more; this detached house has clear and simple structure Moden style: glass and white wall make up the facade of the building, which is in harmony with the surrounding modernstyle buildings. Close to nature: the design considers physical qualities and also spiritual dimension. The design aims to maximise the access to nature, and keep residents away from chaos of urban life.
