Welcome to the second annual bull sale at Ruda Cattle. We are extremely excited to bring you what we believe is a high quality yet diverse set of bulls that can work in many different scenarios across the industry. We consider it an honor to have your interest in our program and do our best year-round to try and bring you cattle that can help increase your bottom line. I’d like to make a few points of interest on the bulls. These bulls were developed on a forage-based diet with little grain to ensure the integrity of their feet and legs and promote longevity in their ability to cover cows because we know a bull investment should last for several years, not one. The two-year-old bulls were run on pasture all summer with no added inputs and we feel you will be pleased when you put them to work. We appreciate your interest and hope you like them. Cash or check payable immediately following the sale and before the removal of any animals unless prior arrangements have been made.

CARE OF BULLS & DELIVERY

Ruda Cattle will keep and feed all bulls until May 15th if you so choose. We will continue to care for them as our own but take no responsibility for loss or injury and recommend you purchase mortality insurance if left in our care. We will deliver all bulls within 300 miles free of charge.

SEMEN INTEREST

Ruda Cattle will retain 25% semen interest on all bulls sold, meaning if we would like to collect a bull for in herd use we have the option to do so at our expense. The new owner will have full possession and salvage value.

GUARANTEE

We fully guarantee all bulls to be reproductively sound. All two-year-old bulls have passed a breeding soundness exam and all yearlings left in our care will be semen tested before pick up on May 15th. We also guarantee all bulls for the first breeding season. (90 Days after turnout)

From the first time we laid eyes on our Phoebe donor when she was just a calf, we knew she was going to do great things for our program. Her first calf by W/C Night Watch was a really nice bred we sold this past December and this stud here is just her second calf. I usually don’t like to make any bold predictions about newborn calves but I think this calf was all of about 24 hours old when I said this is the best bull that’s ever been born here. Fast forward one year and in my mind that hasn’t changed. This bull has intrigued and impressed me every day of his life. Another nice red baldy bull with an outstanding pedigree. He’s sired by the ultra-popular Bank on It bull that sold at Wernings a couple of years ago and who I feel is one of the most consistent sires we have used in the last few years. Lot 4 is the first son we have ever offered out of SWC Red Wave, but we are sure excited about what that bull is doing for our program. Without a doubt he is one of the best red calving ease options on the market today. I think his progeny will continue to garner attention over the next several years and I think this son can bring a lot of value to a multitude of operations.

Our friend Jared Park sent us these next two bulls that are out of females which stem from our program, and man we are excited about how they look. The Lover Boy cattle have become extremely popular the last couple of years and when you look at lot 5 it’s easy to see why. He is really

bodied, sound structured and will throw lots of baldies on a set of solid colored cows.

This baldy Night Watch son is about as stout as you can make one. He has worlds of bone, width and muscle shape. If you need to stouten up your set of calves then look no further than lot 6. He has been a favorite all winter and he is sure to catch your eye sale day.

These two half-brothers really emulate what the Dew North sired cattle do so well. They are both built incredibly well from the ground up and are functional in their overall design. 7 is the stouter made and bigger bodied one of the pair who is sure to transmit plenty of growth and power. However, if you need to add a little more look and balance from the side take a glance at lot 8. He is the longer necked, cleaner chested bull and really neat in his lines.

The lone fall born bull of the sale is one that is unique from a genetic standpoint. Sired by H2OS clone of the great Relentless bull and out of a granddaughter to the mother of Broker… now that’s a stacked pedigree! He’s stout, burly and ready to breed cows.

They say patience is a virtue and I think that would apply here. This Foresight son is built as good as you can make one with tons of look and quality from the side. He’s just a little later maturing than some of the others but with a little time and patience I think this bull will look like an absolute stud. Plus, he is a grandson of the famed Tammy donor from the Boyert program who continues to knock it out of the park year after year.

When I think of a bull being dual purpose lot 11 is what I envision. This baldy bull is built exceptionally well from the side. His heck ties high out of his shoulder, he balances up as good as any and is level hipped. The cool thing about this guy is even though he should sire awesome looking replacements, his added size, length and muscle shape should translate into more valuable feeders as well.

In case you couldn’t tell we put a bunch of these embryos in two years ago and they all came out bulls. It would have been nice to have a heifer or two to replace the 6Y cow but after seeing these bulls develop I was sure happy with how they turned out. They are a very consistent set of brothers that genetically go back to some of the really good cow families in the breed. Any of these Quantum Leap sons can easily stand on their own, however if you are looking for two or more bulls to kick on a bigger group of cows then here you go. Kick out a couple of these guys together to keep the calves uniform and increase growth.
