Elder, Magazine Designer and Writer, IT Coach, Graphic Designer and Dressmaker. I have always enjoyed spending time reading and helping others write and edit. While in my youth, I learned to sew which meant I would spend hours alone creating and designing “outfits” to wear to school. I also enjoyed reading novels and always kept a selfhelp book near by. I believed in the power of positive thinking and learned how to apply it in my life at an early age. When I became a young woman, I continued reading novels but I switched from self-help books to reading GOD’s Word. I learned early that GOD will keep His promises and provide for your every need. I try daily to live and operate in the things of GOD. I’m crazy in love with my husband and my family and I always look forward to spending time with them. I enjoy helping others and my prayer is that GOD will continue to bless me to be a blessing to others using the gifts and talents that he has given me. I so enjoy the work involved in designing the LIVING Day By Day Magazine. I love using my creative gifts and talents and I hope that you will enjoy it too. I’ve enjoyed designing publications for many years starting with my family reunions and others. Today, I enjoy designing publications for churches, non-profits and other organizations. They say that “GOD will make room for your gifts.” Enjoy this edition of LIVING Day By Day Magazine and thank you for your support.

BISHOP MILTON L. BROWN A Young, Progressive and Contemporary Pastor Uses A “Mega Ministry” Mindset to Impact The Community Take the skill and talent of a basketball player and combine it with the determination to positively impact families and youth – and now package this all together under the umbrella of integrity and the inspiration to meet both the spiritual and natural needs in our community. think that is how you are. What you think about you are influenced, persuaded or possessed by. When you say, “I don’t have to mind nobody.” “I’m my own man.” “I’m my own woman.” “You can’t tell me what to do. I don’t have to mind nobody.” You are minding your flesh when you say those things... for they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh, but they that are after the spirit the things of the sprit. Let’s look at the kind of minds that the Bible talks about.
1. Double Mind James 1:8
— Not knowing which way you want to go. You can’t vacillate, like a pendulum spirit, being up one day and down the next. You hyped one week and totally depressed the next.
2. Reprobate Mind Romans 1:28
Your thoughts are in your mind. My desire for you today is that you don’t allow the devil to take the authority out of your words. He has been given authority over your words when you don’t make good confessions. Your mind is not centered on the word of God. Remember, your thinking becomes thoughts and your thoughts become things. Your reality is the way that you think. The problem is between ones ears. Romans 8:5… for they that are after the flesh, do mind the things of the flesh, but they that are after the spirit, mind the things of the spirit. You are gonna mind somebody. You either gonna mind the flesh or mind the spirit. There is no in between. You have never been an independent agent. You are influenced either by the flesh or by the spirit. Because as you
LIVING Day By Day•Org
— One is so far off into sin that they don’t believe sin is sin anymore. People who are not saved have this kind of mind. They have heard about God, but they have not come to God. They are walking dead men on an artificial life support system. If you are not born again, then you are dead in your trespasses and your sins. You only have life in the flesh, because life is in the blood. However, you don’t have life in your spirit, because you have not been born again. That is why we must witness. However, when you tell some people about Jesus, some don’t want to hear that. “I don’t really need Jesus, what I need to know is why I’m in these circumstances.” Well, here is the answer; Jesus can get you out of it. “No I’m not talking about that, I’m just in some circumstances that I really need to get out of. Can you lend me some money?”

3. Carnal Mind
6. Sound Mind
Romans 8:7
2 Timothy 1:7 — said We got to have a sound
— The word carnal comes from the word carnivorous which means meat eating animals. You may have heard the expression “you old meathead” when growing up, when you made some wrong decisions. Meat means flesh. When animals are carnivorous, they eat meat. Christians get upset when you call them carnal. “I’m not in the flesh; I’m in my word. Why are you calling me carnal?” “I’m not in the flesh; don’t tell me I’m in the flesh now.” You don’t want to mind! Oh, but you are gonna mind one or the other. All this is happening between your ears.
4. High Minded 2 Timothy 3:4 — This is a last day sign. When people are heady and high minded, you can hardly tell them anything. They are sophisticated, sadidey, haughty, can’t be taught, don’t want to learn and can’t receive instructions. They come to church acting this way. They’ve been in the congregation 2 or 3 years, but they keep acting like the devil. They’ve got all the answers. Often say “I’m trying to get ahead” or hey man, I been going thru but I’m trying to get ahead.” Well the head they’re looking for is Jesus. Look in the book of Colossians, it tells us that the head you trying to get, is Jesus. You are gonna mind somebody, either the flesh or you’re going to mind the spirit.
5. Transformed Mind Romans 12:2
— be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind. It is important that you go to Bible study because you are not going to get this just on Sunday. You must sit under instructions especially in these days we are living in. The devil is throwing all kinds of questions at you and all kinds of weird situations. You got to have the right answer. You have to come and sit under instructions, then while you sitting there you got to receive it and finally you go to relieve it. All this is happening right there in your mind, where your soulish realm is located.
10 | July/August 2012
mind. If not, we are being conformed to the world and not transformed by the word of God. A lot of the world is in the church today. Because when the world comes to church the flesh comes with it. These things are happening right there in our minds. The three components that make up our mind are I think, I want, and I feel. We are a spirit with a soul encased in a body. We are a brief case. We won’t live that long, maybe 80 or 90 years Lord willing. God saves your spirit. Then He says work out your soul salvation with fear and trembling. So when you are lead by the spirit of God you are lead by the word of God. This means you should not make any decision based on what you think, want or feel. Be obedient to the Word of God. Stop doing what you think want or feel by dying to yourself and let God arise and then all your enemies will be scattered.
Remember to be all that God meant for you to be. What you think about you bring about. If you walk in the spirit you won’t fulfill the lust of the flesh. For the flesh profiteth us nothing. The battle is in your mind. That’s why it is so important to study and meditate on God’s word, seek him daily and commune with him so that you will lead a godly life that is pleasing unto him. ■

Pump Your Brakes: Seek Substance NOT Sex...
To the Men:
“After the proposal to my Wife, Shawnda (my exgirlfriend) came to me and said “I’m glad for you guys, but why did you marry her as opposed to me?” Shawnda said to me as tears of disappointment rolled down her light skinned cheeks. My reply was “There were some things that we (Shawnda and I) should not have done that we did; and my Fiancée did not allow me to do to her.” Shawnda looked at me with Red eyes from crying and said “I understand” and left.”
Since we are highly visual it can be easy for us to get caught up in looks as opposed to seeking more about her. There is nothing more frustrating to a man than a fine woman, shaped like a coke bottle with no substance. After you’ve slept with her and got her pregnant you then realize she has issues. Now you have to deal with her for the next 18 years mentally and financially. Now you see she lacks substance (after sleeping with her.) All she talks about is the latest phone, reality T.V. shows, the latest fashion and other people. Brothers can I get an amen!? Some men are so visual they don’t care. They would rather put up with her nonsense, keep her on the side cause she’s so fine and get another woman who’s slightly smarter than the one he’s with. Real men seek a woman who has a proper fear of God and she can pray for him when he’s struggling and carries herself in such a way that he has to respect her. As a man, if we’re attracted to you and date you of course we want to have sex with you. But a God fearing man displays self-control and that 1Cor. 13:4-7 love to her and honors God first, then her decision to remain celibate until marriage.
- From the book “It’s the Woman You Gave Me”
A woman of substance is:
I remember my ex-girlfriend asking me this question like it was yesterday. “Why did you marry her as opposed to me?” It’s so profound because today’s society exgirlfriends and boyfriends might ask this question after the one they broke up with is now married. There is one very crucial factor…premarital sex. Am I saying if you had premarital sex you won’t have a successful marriage? No. You can repent to God and make a decision that no one will touch you until the wedding night. But you can make a fleshly decision and marry the wrong one due to an unhealthy soul tie because of souls being intertwined causes your discernment to be altered. (For more information on this read 1Cor. 6:12-20)

Pump Your Brakes: Seek Substance NOT Sex…
To the Women: I know he’s fine and has it going on financially but did you take the time to see if he has anger problems or to see if he thinks women are beneath him and women owe him something cause his mother spoiled him growing up? I understand a woman wants to avail her sexuality to a man to prove she loves him. Unfortunately, men don’t think the same way as women. If you gave it up too fast he’s thinking “It didn’t take much to conquer her, I’m on to the next one.” Yes, I know it’s sad but true. I used to think the same way before I gave my life to Jesus. I used to use being a “gentlemen” as a way to get what I wanted from women. Since I was the first nice guy they meet (I had my own place, working every day, my own car, looked halfway decent and had no children) they give me their heart, share with me their feelings, hopes and dreams and you know what I get in return for “just being there to listen.” It worked for me every time but I had no substance. I’m not talking about the “hood rats” or “hoochie mamas” but the girls in church. I wasn’t there to respect her and set an example of what a man of God looked like; but for my own selfish motives in turn wounding vulnerable women who later on in life would have trust issues with men because of what I’d done to their hearts not knowing who I was at the time.

(Cont’d)
Some women feel if they make a man wait to have sex she will lose him. The devil is a liar! Let him go; if he can’t wait then he wasn’t the one for you. Just because he looks like Idris Elba or Usher shouldn’t mean he can “get it.” After getting out the bed with that good looking guy you found out there was nothing in common but the sex. You found out he had no vision, can’t keep a job, doesn’t pay his child support and lives with his mother! A man of substance lets the woman know first “I’m not having sex until marriage.” Yea, it sounds corny and gay in today’s society but a man shouldn’t want to have sex with anyone but his wife. Since most men can’t control themselves, they obey their sexual appetite in turn hurting Gods feelings in the process and wounding women. Sisters, show him there’s more to you than your shape. Keep him interested in who you are and what you bring to the table as a true woman of God.
A Man of Substance is:
Someone who reads and lives out the Bible in his everyday life
Someone who has vision before being married
Someone who has a strong work ethic and ambition
Someone who’s submitted to God and another man (Pastor, mentor, brothers, etc.)
Someone who reads books that will make him a better man ■

ALLIANCE VISION EDUCATIONAL CENTER NAIROBI, KENYA Alliance Vision Educational Center is a Christian-based organization which was initiated in January 2007 and registered in October 13th 2008.
Our humble organization's ongoing project is a focused nonformal urban school that provides an education for the marginalized and disenfranchised children who live in the slum neighborhoods of Nairobi, Kenya. The word 'alliance' means to come together for the same purpose and 'vision' simply means having an idea. so Alliance Vision Educational Centre was formed by the people who had the feeling of providing education to less privileged pupils.
We are a Christian based organization that has the philanthropic heart of supporting orphans, vulnerable persons and even widows in the slum are as of Nairobi, Kenya and other parts of Kenya at large. After carrying out the research, we realized that the numbers of illiteracy is increasing in our country and even in other parts outside of Kenya where education is a forgotten issue. OFFICER CHISTHOPER WILLIAMS
Dako’s Patrol Division The City of Douglasville Police Department has a total of 5 police canines and with the Douglas County Sheriff depart included they have a total of 6 police canines and 1 explosive detection canine in there group. So for the entire county there is a total of 11 certified police canines. The training and section process for these police canines can be a very extensive process. All of the city’s canines are born, bred, and purchased from overseas. All of the city’s canines have a French or European background. We have a vendor and trainer by the name of Robert Leigh with (Atlanta Working Dogs) who we deal with and he flies over to Europe to test these potential canines to see if they have what it takes to become a police canine. During the testing process we look for several different traits in these young dogs such their drive. The drive is the behavior that pushes the dog to want to play, search, and hunt. A K9 must have a high drive to become a police canine. If the drive is high that’s half the battle. We also look for independence, social ability, and overall athleticism. Typically most European breeders have already started imprinting most puppies at the age of 3 to 6 months. Imprinting is when you begin putting the basics of obedience and drug detection odors on the puppy. These young puppies learn what drugs odors smell like by constantly introducing them to the drug odor itself and not by feeding the puppies the drugs like it is believed in some circles. Like humans if you give these dogs these narcotics to eat or digest it will harm or likely kill them in the process. We start by putting cotton balls and small pieces of fabric in the dog’s favorite toy or reward and al-
16 | July/August 2012
lowing the puppy or dog to just play with that toy. In the process of playing the pooch is always smelling that odor and as training progresses, we will start to be able to advance our training in drug detection. By the end of the training on narcotics these pooches will be able to locate and
distinguish between marijuana, crack -cocaine, heroin, and methamphetamine. The other part of canine training is the patrol portion. The patrol portion includes criminal apprehension, area searches, building searches, and article recovery. Criminal
apprehension is exactly what it says and this is taught at an early age by teaching the puppy how, when, and where to bite on command. These dogs start the biting process as early as 8 to 10 weeks using things like socks and soft pieces of cloth. And as they progress in age so will there training and the type of things they learn to bite on. These dogs are unique and highly trained and once trained they can go into a building, woods, or any open area and search for a suspect by using their nose primarily and their eyes secondly. This is just the basics of what some of these dogs
can do when properly trained and test. Out of litter of 6 puppies there might only be 3 or 4 that might pass all of the different testing that a breeder and vendor do during the selection process. There are several different types of working dogs. Narcotics & Patrol Narcotics Patrol and Explosives Search & Rescue. All of the city’s canines are dual purpose trained for patrol and narcotics detection. And lastly during some of the drug detection work these dogs let us know that there is narcotics in a vehicle or the whatever we are searching by either nose poking the strongest area on the object and sitting or lying down and barking. Or they will scratch at the object indicating there is or there was drugs at some point in the vehicle or the area. Because the dog’s nose is so sensitive it can smell new or old odor that is as old as 2 or 3 weeks old. And finally the biggest obstacle after selecting a dog is the cost. On average most police canines can cause anywhere from $8,000 upwards to $15,000 but this does include buying, transportation, and the final training for the dog and handler once back in the states. Most handler courses last anywhere from 8 to 10 weeks and once the course is complete the dog and handler must certify with either NNDA (National Narcotics Detection Association) or NAWDA (North American Working Dog Association). And lastly if the dog and handler don’t certify they can’t work together as a team. ■

CHEF DEEDEE COLEMAN The Southern Cooking Girl Talks “Healthy and Healthier Southern Cuisine What comes to your mind when you hear people say “Southern Cuisine” or “Soul Food?” How are these two styles different or are they really different? As a child growing up in the south with a mother that cooks southern food on a daily basis, I never felt there was a difference. Basically, I think the difference is debatable. I think of “Soul Food” as the Fried Chicken, Pot Roast, Collard Greens, Macaroni & Cheese, Rice, Brown Gravy & Cornbread my mother cooked for Sunday Dinner. Southern Cuisine to me is the blending of culinary traditions and ingredients with food that is derived from the South. Recently, my Husband & I visited a Spanish restaurant in Tampa, Florida and one of the dishes we tried was called Pollo Al Ajillo which consisted of bite size pieces of Fried Chicken Breast, Parsley, Garlic Sauce and Spanish Piquillo Peppers. It immediately occurred to me that this dish would not be as great as it was without the Fried Chicken, which was the star of the dish. Southern Cuisine is the “core” cuisine that most cultures and chef’s use today and can always use and count on to create a great meal. As a Chef that specializes in Southern Cuisine, I use my mother’s old southern recipes and add my own twist & flare to them. Most of the time I am using healthier ingredients while making sure the dish still has the flavor and southern comfort that my mother’s recipes have. the unhealthy ingredients normally used in Southern Cuisine. I was brought up on Soul Food & I continue to eat a variety of Southern Cuisine today. I even indulge in a little Fried Chicken and Macaroni & Cheese from time to time, but as I said before everything in moderation and it’s all in the preparation.
I like what Michelle Obama says about being a healthy woman, “It isn’t about getting on a scale or measuring your waistline. We need to start focusing on what matters- on how we feel, and how we feel about ourselves.”
So enjoy your life, make it a priority to eat healthier, it is

Now the controversy is that Southern Cuisine can’t be healthy. Southern Cuisine has gotten such an unhealthy stereotype for several reasons. One reason I believe is convenience food such as greasy fried chicken and buttery biscuits which are a contributing factor for the obesity we see in the African American Culture today. I personally do not equate or define these foods as Southern Cuisine. I will occasionally use pre-packaged sauce mixes and other conveniences for my recipes but only in moderation. Cooking from scratch or cooking semi-home made dishes allows me to avoid all
okay to enjoy your ancestors recipes in moderation, portions sizes and healthier smarter preparation. Southern Cuisine is not the enemy. It is a great style of cooking with a touch of soul that brings families together. It is the core of other cultures, how they prepare, flavor and spice up their food. It is cuisine that I think highly of and prepare and serve with passion and love. I give God all the Glory for the gift of cooking Southern Cuisine. ■ Join Chef DeeDee as she talks “Healthy Flava” on Atlanta’s Praise Victory Network starting June 4th and as she debuts her online cooking show on UNATION.com coming fall of 2012. Living In Faith Everyday — L.I.F.E. By Lakeba Wallace
Living In Faith Everyday
is easier said than done. Life can be hard, confusing, frustrating, depressing, etc. It is easy to live in Faith when everything is going good. But, how do you live in Faith when everyone is against you and everything around you is falling to pieces? No matter what is going on in your life, you should always Live In Faith Everyday. Because you hit a curve in life, don’t stop living in Faith. Your money and career may not be what it should be, your marriage may have failed, you may be sick in your body and all the odds may even be stacked against you, but God still commands us to Live In Faith. Hebrews 6:1 tells us without Faith it is impossible to please God. Hebrews 11:1 states that Now Faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see. Are you living by what you see, or living in Faith?
20 | July/August 2012
As Christians, we have to learn how to trust God no matter what. You may not see it, but continue to trust God for it. No matter how the enemy tries to invade your life, you must continue to Live In Faith Everyday. The enemy has no control over you. You control the enemy. Even when the enemy appears to be winning, you are still in control. Its not about what the enemy is trying to do or not do, continue to live in Faith. Don’t respond to the enemy in anger, fear or frustration. If you are living by Faith, respond in Faith. Don’t allow the people on your job, your personal circumstance or the negative amount in your bank account to stop you from Living In Faith Everyday. You must trust and believe in God with all of your heart and soul. You were not created to give up. You were created to GET UP and WIN. But you can’t win in fear. You can only win as you Live In Faith Everyday.■

SALVATION ONE SOUL AT A TIME By Bishop Eddie A. Sloan For whom do we run to when we are in need of help? Where is our strength? And who will save us? What a powerful set of questions even in this "NEW DAY", this new dispensation of Christ, this new time. It is the year of our Lord Two Thousand and Twelve and here we are still struggling/pondering on how to lead men and woman to Christ. We have found that it will not be music alone that will do it. We have found that preaching alone will not do it and we have found that all of the gadgets that we offer will not do it. So, my dear brothers and sisters what do we do? In my humble opinion, first, we must go back to the beginning. We must go back to the time where we first believed, to the "OLD LANDMARKS" if you will. There are small churches, large preachers, there are large churches and small preachers, there are black preachers and white preachers, there are Indian preachers and Latina preachers, preachers of all shapes and hues who have been set upon by the fiery tongues of heaven as of the day of Pentecost where each and every man spoke in each and every other man's tongue and therein lies the answer to the question what do we do about "SALVATION"? Just as each man heard his tongue so shall each man hear their tongues in each one of us who have been called, pre-destined and ordained to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ for we do speak in unknown tongues, not unknown to God but unknown to us. Not unknown to those to whom we speak so we must speak to each one teach one in their own tongue and offer the gift of "SALVATION" one soul at a time. Today, we have become lazy in Christiandom, we have become pompous, arrogant and LIVING Day By Day•Org
false, we have become clickish and mean and down right nasty and covetous and single mindness "a me generation". We have desired all of the trappings of the world and have thrown out all of the dictates of the Lord so that we may be comfortable but there is a light shining above to all men, there are true voices indeed calling out of the wilderness so, I call to your remembrance 1st Timothy 4:16, which says: Watch your life and doctrine closely. Persevere in them, because if you do, you will save both yourself and your hearers, the new international version of the King James Bible. Doesn't that sound like God telling us that we must do this thing one soul at a time. Your comfortability is not my priority, it shouldn't be our priority leading you to Chri s t is , as k yourselves “ W A S CHRIST COMFORTABLE ON THE CROSS WHILE HE WAS DYING FOR OUR SALVATION?” Preachers, Bishops, Pastors,
Deacons our orders are clear, the dictate is clear “GOD DESIRES THAT NONE OF HIS PEOPLE SHOULD PERISH BUT THAT ALL SHOULD BE SAVED THROUGH OUR LORD AND SAVIOR JESUS CHRIST” and the
only way to do this is to lead them to Christ one soul at a time. So, offer Christ, offer salvation one soul at a time. You don't have to belong to a mega church just let your desires belong to Christ, bring them in one soul at a time. I don't care if you preach at a store house, court house, out house or school house preach to them one soul at a time. Offer them salvation one soul at a time and do as we were ordained, indeed born to do and that is go to the four corners of the earth preaching Jesus and Him crucified. Indeed, Salvation is offered one soul at a ◊ ◊ ◊ ◊ ◊ ◊ ◊
time, the thief on the cross with Jesus at the hour of his death realizing and confessing that he deserved all that he was entitled to because of the way he lived, turned to Jesus and said Lord remember me and there on that cross this thief, this degenerate was offered salvation right there one soul, What did Jesus say to him? He said this day you shall live with me in paradise. WOW, salvation one soul at a time and there my brothers and sisters is our example. Need I say more? Also, we must be bold in these last and ev i l day s and tha t i s w hat I believe. There is no competition in doing the work of the Lord just a willingness to do what God has put into your hands to do. This is what we believe here at Keys to the Kingdom Church. No matter what we do, it is about souls and that is what every church should be about, souls and if it is not the preacher man or preacher woman then I would suggest you go before God to see for sure if this is your calling. Amen.■ July/August 2012 | 21
Shame on You By Pastor Randy S. Dean, Sr. Recently I taught a bible study lesson that was only supposed to last two weeks, it ended up extending for four weeks. It was merely supposed to be a lesson that addressed the difference between guilt and shame. While the topic was enough to create and stimulate the interest of the audience, it only took moments into the first lesson before I realized just how much this subject would have a personal impact on the congregation. The response was overwhelming as I quickly discovered how many people were battling with this issue. I was asked to share on this subject that is anything but innocuous. When I addressed this topic in my book (He Restores My Soul), I had no idea just how much many people within the church struggle with the issue of shame and guilt. One explanation I like to offer that highlights the difference between guilt and shame is quite simple, yet profound. In essence, guilt focuses on the fact that we have made a mistake, shame suggest, that we are the mistake. Guilt focuses on outward actions, shame focuses on inward imperfections. When we have been subjected to childhood experiences that were plagued with abuse, whether sexual, physical, emotional, or verbal it can leave a lasting imprint called shame. Shame is basically what others put upon us but, guilt on the other hand is a reflection of actions we have caused. What is not widely recognized is that shame is the primary root of depression and depression fuels addictions. Addictions take on many shapes and forms, whether it is drugs, alcohol, sex, pornography, shopping (yes shopping), television, and the list continues. This is a ubiquitous issue that has infiltrated the walls of families, marriages, churches and communities. Without recognizing it, much of what we become as adults is shaped by those experiences. It effects how we deal with relationships and often the dysfunctions that can surround it. The fact is a shame bound person can and often do struggle with intimate relationships. It can make an ineradicable impact on our self-esteem and the way we see ourselves.
22 | July/August 2012
So what does God say concerning shame? Gods plan for your life is to be completely liberated from not only the trail of sin and issues that you can get caught up in, but also unhealthy patterns. If you have found yourself in a series of unhealthy relationships and circumstances, chances are you likely struggle with some form of shame. Since there is nothing in the word of God that direction speaks to “removing” shame, it does however suggest that we exchange our sense of heaviness for His eternal joy. Shame creates a heaviness that is very difficult to shake. It produces bad fruit on our tree in life that impact not only us but the people around us. The first thing we must do is recognize that it exist and resolve to address what is there and push to a healthy resolution. Isaiah 61:3 stipulates that Gods plan is “to console those who mourn in Zion, to give them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they may be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the Lord that He may be glorified.” Be willing to sit with a trained counselor, therapist or even your Pastor and begin the process to reverse the curse. Let God replant you and you will find that the fruit that begins to take shape on your tree will have a completely different taste. Take the shame of your past and convert it to a powerful tool of your future.■ Blessings always, Pastor Randy S. Dean, Sr.

Tithing Might Ruin Your Financial Plan…or So ‘They’ Say By Deborah Hightower Then, ask yourself these questions: 1. Have I been (or will I become) loyal to follow the instruction of the One who gives me the ability to produce my income? Or will I take from the One who gives everything? 2. Do I know the details of my financial situation? Do I know exactly how much money I make, how much I spend, and where I spend? 3. What can I do to become a better steward of my resources? 4. Do I spend my tithe and offering on other things? According to a recent Wall Street Journal article, “well-meaning givers can put their financial security at risk when they tithe too much, financial advisers say.” Ok…Christ-followers, what’s your take on that statement? If your financial adviser says “you are giving too much”, how will you respond? According to scholars, there are about 2000 Bible verses relating to money; one-half of the parables are about money. That is certainly an indication that money is an important subject. In order to properly answer the question posed above, let’s review the ultimate finance guide.
5. Am I ready to begin (or continue) to stand firm on the Word and use it as a guide for my finances? As you move forward, think about how you will support your church and other ministries through the giving of tithes and offerings. We are commissioned to spread the Word throughout the world and one way to do that is to support ministries that line up with your passion and purpose. Don’t let well-meaning financial advisers derail your faith or your Godly financial plan. ■
First, Malachi 3:10 instructs us to “Bring one-tenth of your income into the storehouse…” and … “see if I won’t open the windows of heaven for you and flood you with blessings.” And the Word says we can test the Lord on that point. Often times, we focus on the ‘giving up’ instead of the ‘getting’ part. Some look at tithing as giving up one-tenth of income, instead of giving with faith that the blessings in store will produce a return greater than the onetenth. Perhaps you feel stretched between income and obligations. Perhaps you can’t see how it’s possible to work anything else into the expenditure column. But if we as Christ-followers believe any part of the Bible, then we must believe it all. It is not a ‘pick and choose’ instruction booklet. Instead, it’s an ‘all or none’ proposition. Keep these scriptures in mind as you ponder your financial position. Deuteronomy 8:18 - it is God who gives you the ability to produce wealth. Malachi 3:8 - will you rob God? LIVING Day By Day•Org

It's The End That Matters by Rev. Alex Robinson
The race is not given to the quick and the swift, but to those who endure to the end.
Often when people are successful and receive great power and fame, pride invades their lives and they receive the impression that the source of their accomplishments is within their own strength. They often think they can live above the law and forget God. But even rulers are subject to God as king Uzziah discovered. “Can You Stand to Be Really Blessed?” By Bishop Michael E. Daniels 8 When Simon Peter saw it, he fell down at Jesus' knees, saying, Depart from me; for I am a sinful man, O Lord. 9 For he was astonished, and all that were with him, at the draught of the fishes which they had taken: 10 And so was also James, and John, were Jesus from men.
Matthew 4:18-20 18 And Jesus, walking by the sea of Galilee, saw two brethren, Si-mon caller Peter, and Andrew his brother, casting a net into the sea: for they were fishers. 19 And he said unto them, Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men. 20 and they straightway left their nets, and followed him.
Luke 5:5-11 5 And Simon answering said unto him, Master, we have toiled all the night, and have taken nothing: nevertheless at thy word I will let down the net. 6 And when they had this done, they enclosed a great multitude of fishes: and their net brake. 7 And they beckoned unto their partners, which were in the other ship, that they should come and help them. And they came, and filled both the ships, so that they began to sink.

they mention it to Him, when he bids them go a fishing again. Note Some callings are much more than a struggle than others are, and more perilous; yet Providence has so ordered it for the common good that there is no useful calling so discouraging but some or other have a genius for it. Those who follow their business, and get abundance by it with a great deal of ease, should think with compassion of those who are not so blessed in their endeavors especially in this day and time., and hardly get a bare livelihood by it. When we have rested all night, let us not forget those who have toiled all night, as Jacob, when he kept Laban’s sheep. But the calling ever so laborious, it is good to see people diligent in it, and make the best of it; these fishermen, that were very industrious, Jesus singled out for his favorites.
3 Jesus ordered Peter and his ship’s crew to cast their nets into the sea, which they did, in obedience to him, though they had been hard at it all night, and had caught nothing,
4, 5 We may observe here, how relaxed and melancholy their business had now been: "Master, we have toiled all the night, when we should have been asleep in our beds, and have taken nothing, but have had our labour for our pains.’’ One would have thought that this should have excused them from hearing the sermon; but such a love had they to the word of God that it was more refreshing and reviving to them, after a wearisome night, than the softest Posturpedic. They were fit to be preferred as good soldiers of Jesus Christ who had learned to endure hardness. Even those who are most diligent in their business often are met with disappointments; they who toiled all night yet caught nothing; for the race is not always to the swift. God will have us to be diligent, purely in duty to his command and dependence upon his goodness, rather than with an assurance of worldly success. We must do our duty, and then leave everything else to God. Nevertheless, at thy word, I will let down the net. Though they had toiled all night, yet, if Jesus bid them, they will renew their struggle, for they know that they who wait on him shall renew their strength, as work is renewed upon their hands; for every fresh service they shall have a fresh supply of grace sufficient. Though they have taken nothing, yet, if Jesus bid them let down for a draught, they will hope to take something. We must not abruptly quit the callings wherein we are called because we have not the success in them we promised ourselves. The Men and Women of the gospel must continue to let down that net, though they have perhaps toiled/struggled long and caught nothing; and this is thank-worthy, to continue unwearied in our labors, though we see not the success of them. In this they have an eye to the word of Christ, and a dependence upon

known that it amounted to a miracle (v. 6): They enclosed a great multitude of fishes, so that their net broke, and yet, which is strange, they did not lose their draught. It was so great a draught that they had not hands sufficient to draw it up; but they were obliged to beckon to their partners, they needed help finally a breakthrough from God, for faithfulness and trust.
tell a professional fisherman what to do…this is my profession…they almost missed it by being caught up in their resume, it almost tripped their intellect and how many times do we get caught up if you please in the rapture of our own mind? Even thought they were in the boat they almost missed the boat. Jesus is saying I know you have the faith for you have exercised it by what you do …but now here is a lesson on trust…if anyone could teach it …He’s well qualified. We as Christians have to learn to trust in the God of our salvation or we will miss out on the greatest blessings that God have for us, So I pose this question to you my sister and brother,
Their partners who were at a distance, out of call, to come and help them, But the greatest evidence of the vastness of the draught was that they filled both the ships with fish, to such a degree that they overloaded them, and they began to sink, so that the fish had like to have been lost again with their own weight. Supposedly these ships were but five or six tons a piece, what a vast quantity of fish must there be to load, nay to over-load, them both! Now by this vast draught of fishes, Jesus intended to show his dominion in the seas as well as on the dry land, over its wealth as over its waves. He was not questioning the validity of the confession of their profession…all He wanted to do was show them that their ego almost cause them to miss out on yet another miracle that was just about to overtake them…this was a lesson from faith to trust…..

Reaching & Equipping (Young) Adults for Life "The College Life" My name is Marquis Robinson and I attend the University of Central Florida. I started my college career at Valencia Community College which is now known as Valencia College. I earned my AA degree from Valencia College, then transferred to the University of Central Florida (UCF). My community college experience was a good one but my university experience is even better. Currently, I am a Junior at UCF and I am enjoying "The College Life". There is always something going on at UCF. You can go to the gym and workout, play basketball, run the track, and even take a swim in the pool.

The main focus in College is learning but, you can have fun while you learn. If your a sports fan its just like high school all over. You can attend the football and basketball games or whatever sport you like to watch for "FREE". On some weekends, the campus has movie night outside for the students. You can not say that there is no FUN in college. There are a lot of educational resources on campus that can help you prepare for your major. UCF offers students the ability to watch class lectures at home when the option is available. Whatever college or university you attend, I suggest that you take advantage of the educational resources so that you will not be behind once you graduate. Also, make sure you get involved with the different groups that you can join on campus such as a fraternity or sorority.... It is a fun experience. I am still learning about the university experience but so far, College Life has been a good one. Marquis Robinson, UCF Junior

The scriptures say that our Lord was bruised for our iniquities, the chastisement of our peace was upon him, and with his stripes we are healed. They whipped him 39 times, they mocked and laughed him to scorn, and ultimately subjected him to the highest form of humiliation and punishment at that time by nailing him to a ragged splint-laden cross. The scriptures say, in John 19:31, that in order to speed up the arduous process of his death they asked the Roman guards to break his legs. The legs were broken so that the victim would not be able to push himself up in order to breathe clearly. This would ultimately lead to the victim dying quicker of affixation. But notice what happened to Jesus…John 19:32-33 says, "Then came the soldiers and broke the legs of the first, and the other which was crucified with him, but when they came to Jesus and saw that he
was dead already, they break not his legs. The four words found in verse 33 show us how we can be bruised, but not broken (He was dead already). My beloved friends, in order for us not to be broken under the pressure of our cross we must die out to self and our lustful desires. We cannot continue to try to gasp for the air of our own agendas and expect not to be broken by the weight of our cross. Also notice that the part of the body that was not broken was his legs. We cannot afford to have our legs broken because the legs give us the ability to walk "upright." As we look forward into this year, let us determine in our hearts that regardless of the challenges and difficulties we have faced and will encounter in the future, that we will not allow breakage to occur in any of our lives. Our praise shall not be broken, our character shall not be broken, our faith shall not be broken, our prayer life will not be broken, our worship shall not be broken, our peace shall not be broken, our love shall not be broken, and our families shall not be broken. We might be bruised, but WE ARE NOT BROKEN. I love you all and God bless. Bishop Milton L. The Lifeline of Communication By Pastors Jerome and Ivy Moore There is one whose rash words are like sword thrusts, but the tongue of the wise brings healing (Proverbs 12:18)
We have made it through times that called us to be more than we had ever imagined we could be. We have shown courage that helped each other when we felt helpless ourselves. We have been tender with each other when we felt so overwhelmed that the only way we knew to express our love was through gentle words and quiet actions. We learned to communicate three years before we got married; because we knew that communication is the lifeline of marriage and the heart of the relationship. It is literally the foundation on which all else is built. Communication is the way humans create and share meaning, both verbally and non verbally. The ability to communicate is the one of handful of essential skills individuals must master if they are to enjoy close relationships. In one of the most important skills that you can learn is how to talk so that your mate will listen and how to listen so your mate will talk. This was one of the most key things that we did before we made a covenant commitment to one another. Maybe you think you already know how to communicate. Like most couples, you are saying, “We are in Love, we can talk about anything.” But did you know your partner lives by different rules of communication than you do? Everyone grows up with a unique set of communication rules and marriage forces two people with different sets of rules to renegotiate them. Yes, we said it renegotiate. Some people learn how to communicate in different ways. Maybe, they were not used to speaking about situations in a family environment or maybe speaking not at all. These are some of the things that you need to know before you make that commitment to know what you are up against. You have to know how to solve potential problems early on before they emerge. Communication obstacles exist between every husband and wife and any one in relationship. There are barriers that you have to overcome if you want to make the relationship work. Through it all you may get moments of doubt, but God will keep telling you to hang in there. As we worked with God and with each other, we did make it-through even the toughest of challenges. As you continue to work through your relationship continue to keep the Lord in your relationship because “We know that all things work together for good for those who love God, who are called according to his purpose.” Romans 8:28
Our Prayer For You — Dear God, We are praying for the couples because of the love that they feel in their hearts and also because they want to be supportive of each other in experiencing the lifeline of communication. We pray that they are complete and whole. Let your spirit fill them with ever renewing life and strength. Let their hearts be symbolic of their love for each other. Amen

Without question or deep penetrating thoughts in these days and times men and women need to be set free. The Word also states, “My people are destroyed because of the lack of knowledge”. The Lord has truly blessed us with 27 years of a wonderful marriage and two children and one grandson. We are truly honored that the Lord has used us to impact so many lives; as we continue to see a growing demand from people around the world looking for trustworthy resources; for pre marital/marital counseling, happy marriages, hurting marriages, and divorce recovery. BREAKING the Chain by Edward Williams
It doesn’t matter where we’re from or where we are right now we all know someone who, no matter how hard they work or how many times they change jobs or careers, just can’t seem to break above that level of just getting by. They are unable to break the financial chain that is holding them captive and keep them from living their dreams. They can’t seem to ever get ahead, always in that cycle of the day to day, week to week, and month to month fight of staying just above, drowning in the sea of debt, unhappiness, frustration, and despair. We see those persons living their lives in the same way their parents did or currently doing things. We see our young men who didn’t have a father in their lives, walk away from their own children, teenage girls who were born to teenage mothers now having children of their own. We see generation after generation remain on the up and down roller coaster life of the generation before them. Too many of us walk through this life as victims of our past. It's up to us and us alone to break the chain of mediocrity, average, and ordinary. The chain of mediocrity must be broken. At some time, by someone, this chain must break. Why not you and why not now? In order to break the chain, we first must change our thought patterns, our beliefs, and improve ourselves. There are five practical steps you need to practice daily to break this chain:
Believe In Yourself. It's not what others call you, but what you answer to that gives you your identity. Believing in yourself is the most important thing you must do to accomplish anything in life. You must trust in your own ability. It is absolutely essential to guard and renew your mind because anywhere you intend to go in life your mind most go first.
many singer are out there no one has your voice or the music inside you. You are an original, one of the kind; there was no one like you ever before and there will be ever again. We need you to discover and share the T.A.G. you were sent here with.
You must have a Vision. You need to have a vision and sometimes lose your sight. Your vision shows you where you can go in life, your sight only shows you where you are. You need a bigger picture of your life. Believe in your vision even when others don't. Your Vision was given to you, not them and only you can make it a reality.
Set and Achieve Goals. Quite simply if you have no where to go, you are already there. In order to break the chain, you must set goals for your life then achieve them! Setting goals is a job within itself; you must first know what you want in order to plan how to get it than you must work to achieve those goals. There is a old saying,” Plan your work, than work your plan".
Take Action. Nothing will just happen because you
want it to - you have to make it happen. All the talent and ability in the world means nothing unless you develop and use them. You must push yourself into action, don't wait for things to get better, you must start where ever you are with whatever you have. When you believe in yourself enough to take action on a better life, a better life you will have.
The Chain of mediocrity, average and ordinary must be broken by someone, at some time!
WELL, THE SOMEONE IS YOU AND THE TIME IS NOW! Use your gifts and talents to break to chain of mediocrity.

Brian Courtney Wilson - (cont’d) the people who did not give up on you when you feel like giving up on yourself...and most of all, it's about remembering that the reason we have so much to remember is because God has always been there to make a way through the people in our lives.” Wilson believes God gave him “So Proud” when he was feeling especially discouraged and needed to remember the way to go. He knew then that the song would anchor his next project, and his goal for the rest of the album was to assemble a group of songs that would convey ing
what it means to live in God’s promise. Wilson wrote or collaborated on most of the songs, and served as co-producer for all of the tracks on the CD. “It’s important to me that people see this as a body of work,” says Wilson. “We’re really trying to tell a story about believing in the promise, pressing through to realize the promise and protecting the promise.”

Several months after writing “So Proud,” Wilson played it for the multiple GRAMMY®, Dove and Stellar Award winning producer Aaron Lindsey (Israel Haughton, Marvin Sapp), who caught the vision of the tune and agreed to produce it. The result is a feel good blend of inspiration, heart and soul rooted in the church paradigm that has always been a cornerstone in his life. Most of the other songs on the CD were produced by GRAMMY-nominated and multiple award-winning producer and songwriter Stan Jones, including
“Right Back To You,” a prayer that God will let you be the greatest at whatever it is that he’s calling you to be, but even if you aren’t, whatever you do will be worthy of giving right back to God; “Closer,” a song about holding on because you’re closer than you think; and “Grab And Hold,” which reminds us that Jesus has everything we need, and that we need to make sure that nothing stops us from grabbing His hand
and holding on. The song has what Wilson describes as an “old school church feel” to it that reinforces the meaning of the song. “He Still Cares,” the second single from the CD project, was written by Stan Jones, who considers this song an extension of “All I Need,” the mega hit that he penned for Wilson’s first album. The message is that even when you’ve had a touch from the Master, you still may go through trials and tribulation. But you must believe that God still cares for you, and He will give you what you need, when you need it, to make it through. Jones also contributes
“Keep Pressing On,” an uptempo song that encourages the listener to keep pressing on even in the darkest of days, because things are going to get better. Wilson wanted to include in this project a song that considers the promise of marriage. He wrote “One Day At A Time,” in collaboration with award-winning producer P.J. Morton, who produced the song. “I’ve been married 11

It’s important to tie marriage to worship because a good marriage is a model for the way God wants to be in relationship with us.” “Perfect,” another collaboration between Wilson and P.J. Morton, gives the good news that even though we are not perfect, God sees us as perfect for the plans He has for us and the dreams He put in our hearts. Morton also serves as producer for “Perfect.” “Obey Anyway,” was written several years ago by Toby Hill. Wilson wanted to include it in this project because the message of the song—that when times are tough and we are looking for an answer, we just have to keep going and following the instructions that God has already given us—fit with the theme of the project. The celebratory, feel-good “Storm In Mind” was inspired by a conversation Wilson saw on a program on the Trinity Broadcast Network (TBN). One man told of being on a cruise ship when a storm came up. Everyone started to panic except the captain, who explained to the passengers that he knew there was no need for panic because he was there when the ship was built, and he knew that it was made to endure the storm that they were going through. The message of this song is that if we’re going through a storm in our life,

we’ve got to believe that we can make it through because God has made us to endure it. Wilson performs “Unspeakable Joy” as a duet with gospel legend and label mate Vanessa Bell Armstrong. Wilson was inspired to write the song because he believes that if you understand that you are perfect for God and perfect for whatever plan God has for you, then it should bring you a sense of joy. “You Are My King” is a simple, straight forward song that says no matter who you are or what your station is in life—rich or poor, with many friends or alone, God is our King and He can help us get through. So Proud follows Wilson’s debut CD, Just Love, which entered at #2 on the Billboard Top Gospel Albums chart and #6 on Billboard’s Top Christian Albums chart. The CD has remained at #1 on Christian Music Trade Association’s (CMTA) Inspirational Albums chart for 52 weeks. Since its release in June 2009, the CD held steady in the Top 20 on the Billboard Top Gospel Albums chart for over 90 weeks—longer than any other CD title on Billboard’s Top 50 that year [2010]. As a fitting follow-up, the Music World Gospel relaunch of Just Love Deluxe Edition, re-entered on Billboard’s Top Gospel Albums chart at #3. Just Love made music chart history, Wilson was the only artist to have four active singles [“All I Need,” “Already Here,” “Just Love,” and “Awesome God”] on Billboard’s Gospel charts, and all have peaked in the Top 5, 10 and 15 positions [2009/2010]. His first single release, “All I Need,”
was then, the longest-running current single, charting 92 weeks on Billboard’s Hot Gospel Songs chart. In 2009, “All I Need” was named Song of the Year at the Mississippi Gospel Music Awards, which also saluted producer Stan Jones as Producer of the Year for his work on the project. In 2010, Wilson received two Gospel Music Association’s Dove Award nominations for New Artist of the Year and Urban Recorded Song of the Year for “Just Love,” which was followed in 2011 with his third nomination for Urban Recorded Song of the Year for “All I Need.” Also in 2010, he was nominated by the Atlanta Gospel Music Choice Awards for Song of the Year for “All I Need” and he was also included in the The Root.com list of 100 Young Achievers and Pace Setters. In September 2010, Wilson received the Gospel Music Heritage Month Rising Artist Award. In early 2011, Wilson received a nomination for the NAACP Image Award for Outstanding Gospel Album of the Year (Traditional and Contemporary). In March 2012, Wilson and his wife Stacey were presented with the Black Marriage Hall of Fame Entertainment Duo Award. Wilson was raised in the Chicago Illinois area, where, as a young boy he sang with the adult male chorus at the Rock of Ages Baptist Church. Brian Courtney Wilson - (cont’d) After graduating from college, Wilson took a job as a pharmaceutical salesman, and eventually moved to Houston, Texas to work for Johnson & Johnson. Despite having been raised in the church, Wilson says he was confused and adrift in his early post college years. “God had a plan for my life, but I got off track,” says Wilson. What got him back in the right lane was a friend’s invitation for Wilson to visit the Windsor Village Church in Houston. At Windsor, Wilson came to fully understand who he was and what was his calling. Wilson was invited to write music for their services, and some of his songs received airplay at local radio stations.

One look at the beginning of Marjane‘s life and it‘s quite apparent that music was a part of her destiny. Hailing from Los Angeles, she began singing at the age of two. Singing was in her blood; her mother, grandmother and aunt
sang. Church was also a large part of her life so it wasn‘t a surprise when the youngster took to
All of us can remember the first time we heard that special singer and asked the question, “Who is
that?” Well, the gospel music industry is buzzing, asking that same question with the entrance of vocal phenomenon Marjane‘
From note one, Marjane (pronounced mar-ja-nay) captures the ear with a vocal prowess and gut-wrenching delivery that‘s
not easily forgotten. It‘s this type of gifting along with an amazing ability to write relatable songs and a mastery of contemporary gospel that has moved this young woman to the top of the list of artists to look out for in 2012. A Semi-Finalist of the famed BET Show, Sunday Best, a 2012 Rhythm of Gospel Award Nominee for Music Video of the Year, a 2011 Heart & Soul Gospel Award Winner and the 2010 Ensound Music Award Winner for Best

matter of fact, she was so gifted that her voice was too powerful for the children‘s choir and her choir director promptly moved her to the adult choir – at the age of eight. She honed her vocal skills there, but soon moved to Minnesota. The cross-county transition
was a ―wildernessǁ experience for her and she fell away from the church. The opportunity to sing R&B opened up and she even auditioned in front of record executives at Virgin Records, in hopes of a record deal. Nothing worked out and ultimately, in 2003, she moved to Denver, Colorado,
where she connected with Heritage Christian Center (now the Potter‘s House of Denver) under the pastorate of Bishop Dennis Leonard and the musical direction of well-known Worship Leader Joe Pace.
After re-establishing her relationship with Christ, she was offered the chance to sing lead on the Send It Down CD on the track,
“Praise Him All Ye People.” That recording experience made her realize that music ministry is what she wanted to dedicate her life to and she began learning all she could about the music industry. She entered a number of music contests, winning (or making impressive placings) in them all including the Steve Harvey Talent Search (El Rey Theatre) - 2nd place Winner, the Sounds for Soul Gospel Talent Search Winner, the Talent Search Club 110 Winner and the Christian Artists Talent Search (CATS) Charlotte North Carolina Runner-up. She started her record label, J Jane Music Group, in 2007 and her career took off. That same year, Marjane‘ dropped her de-
but release entitled, Keys To My Heart , and the CD was a rousing success. The project made the first round of the Stellar Awards Ballot, the gospel music industry‘s most coveted honor. With all of the songs written by the artist, it confirmed that Marjane‘ was not only a stunning vocalist, but talented songwriter as well making her a double threat in gospel. The release of her sophomore album Won't Let Go , in 2009, fur-
ther solidified her position as one of gospel music‘s premiere independent artists with audiences, radio, and Internet listeners falling in love with her contemporary style of gospel.

Legal TALK Broughton Qualifies for Douglas County Sheriff’s Race Douglasville, GA: The Campaign to Elect Derrick T. Broughton is proud to announce his qualification (May 25) as Democrat candidate for Sheriff of Douglas County, GA.
“We understand the historic significance of my campaign,” Brought said. “But I’m not focused on race. As sheriff my task will be to protect and serve the entire community in a fair and responsible manor. I will expect the same from my staff.” The Committee to Elect Derrick T. Broughton has set up a website to keep voters informed about the campaign and help volunteers in the campaign efforts. “It will be a privilege and honor to serve the citizens of Douglas County.” www.Broughton2012.com
Broughton, 45, of Lithia Springs has served 20 years in the Fulton County Sheriff’s Department. Broughton ran for sheriff in 2008 and received 23,825 votes, nearly 45 percent of votes, against the incumbent Phil D. Miller. Broughton was the first African American to run for sheriff in Douglas County. In 2008 a controversy occurred when election officials left out his middle initial ‘T’ on the ballot and illegally created a second ballot in an attempt to allegedly correct the error. The two separate ballots would not merge and resulted in election officials manually entering thousands of cast votes by hand. Election officials were reprimanded and fined by the Georgia State Elections Board. The violations by Douglas County elections officials have raised questions about the integrity of the voting process. “We will take our experience from the past campaign and work even harder to earn voters support,” Broughton said. “I have a very dedicated campaign team that is ready to get our message out to the voters. We will work hard to address the issues we face in Douglas County.” Broughton said that over the next few months he will be going throughout the community listening to the concerns of citizens. “We are overwhelmed with the response from citizens. They are eager to see new leadership. Public safety, integrity and honor will be the driving force in my administration.”

In The News Atlanta’s Best Camp for Kids What is the cost of the YMA program? Are there any discounts available? The cost of the program is $85 per week, per child. We offer a 10% sibling discount per week. We also have a referral program as well. For every 2 children you refer, you will receive a 5% discount on your weekly rate as long as those referrals are still enrolled in our program.
TWO LOCATIONS Young Masterminds of Atlanta is dedicated to the development and empowerment of today’s youth. Our mission is to set each child on a path to recognize and overcome their self-imposed limits in order to discover and maximize their full potential and transform them from the inside out. We are fully committed to the personal and academic development of our students. Your child’s development is our ultimate passion! Our premier summer success enrichment program was built on the idea that every individual was born with innate talents and abilities. At YMA, we like to refer to those extraordinary gifts as an individual’s “inner mastermind’. Our age specific curriculum and uniquely themed activities have been carefully developed to promote and encourage the discovery and development of those gifts.
Summer Camp 2012 Atlanta’s BEST Summer Camp for Kids – 2012 is just underway! And guess what? WE’RE EXTENDING & EXPANDING! Parents, you’ve spoken – and we heard you loud and clear! This summer, YMA will have multiple locations in the Atlanta (and surrounding) areas. The dates will be from June 4, 2012 – July 27, 2012. Sign up on our Home Page in the “News You Can Use” box to stay plugged in with us so you’ll be the first to know when and where we’ll be in a city near you!
What makes Young Masterminds of Atlanta different from other summer camps? We are not your typical summer babysitting service that simply provides snacks and goes on the occasional field trip. Our program of services aims to bridge the gap that exist between text book knowledge and applied life principles. The Young Masterminds will learn valuable concepts that will enhance their lives and extend far beyond the camp experience.
Morrow, GA – Traveler’s Rest Missionary Baptist Church, 6021 Maddox Road Decatur, GA – TDL Global Outreach, 5304 Panola Industrial Boulevard If you or someone you know wants YMA to host a summer camp at their church, recreation center or other facility, please email the Executive Director of Operations: achie@ymatlanta.org for qualifications and requirements.
