The showroom also contains a special, unique feature: a lovingly restored antique carriage known as a Democrat. Bob Fines estimates that it dates back to the 1880s when it was owned by his great grandmother’s brother. It was passed on to his grandfather, a well-known figure in the village of Coleraine who embraced the modernization of agriculture and one of the first farmers in the area to have electricity and a telephone. The carriage was later placed into storage and remained there until only five years ago when it was retrieved and restored to take centre stage at Fines Ford Lincoln. The history of Fines Ford Lincoln is a testament to the business they are today, and it’s not over yet. As he begins to consider retirement, Bob Fines is getting ready to pass the dealership on to his son-in-law Carlos Martins, so he can continue the rich tradition they’ve established. The dedicated, family-run business with a proven track record of top-notch service is becoming a rarity these days, but Fines Ford Lincoln proves that it still exists.
