CUYAHOGA COMMUNITY COLLEGE (TRI-C ®)

CONVOCATION Fall 2024

TUESDAY, AUGUST 20

METROPOLITAN CAMPUS

Welcome back! I hope you had a great summer. We are all excited that the fall semester is upon us. When our students arrive next week, they will encounter a totally new academic experience.

As I enter my third year at Tri-C, I am proud of the many faculty, staff and administrators who have helped to reshape the student experience and those who continue to work tirelessly to help our students reach their full potential.

We streamlined our enrollment process. We expanded our educational offerings. And now, we are rolling out new academic schools that will fundamentally change how students learn and engage at Tri-C, from enrollment to completion.

Each school will provide a “home base” for students during their academic journey, ensuring that they receive the support to achieve their goals.

Our new schools will also give students a sense of identity and belonging as they interact each day with classmates with similar interests and goals. This new model will help us meet students where they are, crafting an educational experience that fulfills their needs, on their schedules, with their futures in mind.

Our deans and faculty were asked to contribute their ideas as the schools were being created and will continue to play an important part in recruitment, retention and student success.

To assist our deans and their staff this semester, the College has created leadership meetings that will connect deans within their schools and with other colleagues throughout the College.

This is an exciting time to be part of Tri-C. Over the past several years, we have asked ourselves, “What does a next-level institution look like?” Starting now, we begin to answer that question.

But our work is not done. We must continue to build on these accomplishments and continually move Tri-C forward. I look forward to taking the next steps with all of you.

Sincerely,
