The Facts About What Your University Education Will Cost And How You Can Pay
n You are charged a tuition fee for every year of your course. Fees for 2024 have not been set yet. In 2023, LJMU fees were set at £9,250* per year for all fulltime undergraduate degree programmes.
n You don’t have to pay tuition fees up front–subject to eligibility, you can take out a tuition fee loan for each year of your course. This is paid direct to the University.
n You can also take out a maintenance loan to help cover your living expenses such as rent and food. This loan is paid direct to you in three instalments.
n Dependent upon where you live in the UK, you may also qualify for grants for living costs too.
n You don’t start paying back your student loan until you have left university and are earning over the threshold. The current threshold is £25,000** for students from England and Wales and £19,390 for students from Northern Ireland and Scotland.
n Your monthly repayments will be a percentage of your earnings and are not based on how much you borrowed from the Student Loans Company.
The amount of funding you can receive depends on where in the UK you normally live, your household income and if you will be living at home or in other accommodation while you study.
