Additional support and digital resources

Our Career Zones are located in the James Parsons Building and Student Life Building and are open both during and outside of term time. They host regular employability skills workshops and careers fairs to help you build your skills and network with a variety of people from your industry. Postgraduate researchers can also access a range of digital careers resources via Careers Zone 24/7, LJMU’s online careers platform which features a jobs board, career assessments, interactive tools, e-learning courses, employer videos and much more.

Careers support for postgraduate researchers

Catering for the specific needs of postgraduate researchers, you can receive one-to-one careers guidance, as well as have your CV and job application forms checked to ensure you are maximising your skills effectively for specific roles. You can access one-to-one career coaching, support with job hunting, preparing for interviews, creating an online profile and find out about appropriate careers events and fairs, as well as tailored careers guides and resources.

Entrepreneurship

If you have ambitions to be your own boss or work freelance, expert help is available from our Centre for Entrepreneurship. As well as providing mentoring services, the Centre helps entrepreneurs to achieve key milestones by offering advice on a wide range of topics including access to funding.
