Filming 01/02/15 St. Catherines Hill, Winchester

On the 01/02/15 I set off to Winchester to carry out the filming for my project. I went with my model and the two film students I am collaborating with. Due to the weather, there were some aspects that we could not control, being the Motocross track was closed. This was a massive set back for us and means we have to reschedule going to Winchester on another weekend to finish the filming at the track where we unfortunately will not have our model. This, however, is all apart of learning how things sometimes do not go the way they’re planned and its a good way to learn how to re-think and re-plan ideas. We managed to film in a house and then on the hill to make more of a story from the film. I took a few shots along the way using my phone, but the main photographs were taken in the forest at the top of the hill. As the film students took the photographs there were shots I personally would have loved to have seen, but the shots we did get were great none the less. I really enjoyed collaborating with film students because it gave me an insight as to how they work and I feel they really helped me to enhance the mood of my film with their shot directions. I am looking forward to getting to the Motocross track hopefully next weekend to finalise the filming, although the editing for the footage taken so far will take place this week so I don’t fall behind.

Styling Looking at Barbour International for my film, I decided to style my model in an outfit which was edgy but casual. Using the lifestyle theme in my film, I didn’t want my model to be all in biking clothing, as that would not fit in with the countryside shooting. My model is dressed in Tommy Hilfiger black skinny jeans tucked into rustic looking boots to align with the heritage theme. The jumper is Ralph Lauren cashmere, styles slightly oversized with the sleeves rolled up and the jacket is Barbour. The scarf is used as an accessory to enhance the motion of the clothing in the filming as it flows with the wind. We have used a motorbike helmet which resembles a motocross helmet with the cutting style of it, and this is used as a prop throughout the filming. The helmet is the prop which gives the film more of a narrative without being a too obvious story.
