“WHERE
IT ALL COMES TOGETHER”
M • L • R
Vignettes of time, precious memories and new discoveries to come. For some, a key ingredient in this recipe of life is the great outdoors. Whether your pursuits are high energy recreation on land & water, or painting & non-fiction on deck & hammock , the effect nature can have on us is undeniable. Mountains. Lakes. Rivers. They all provide an indescribable nourishment. A restoration. A sense of well-being that cannot be achieved elsewhere. And they are the embers for life’s “moments”. Nature’s cathedral for us to create memories of a lifetime. Nantahala River Club in Western North Carolina is a new mountain-lake community designed around these principles. Designed with the outdoor family in mind. Nature is the priority here. It is a land of opportunity. And there is something for everyone. However, we are not the designers of this outdoor symphony. Simply the stewards. And our stewardship includes all three. The Mountains. The Lake. The River. Seldom does nature conspire in such a way to almost overwhelm us.
We are not the designers of this outdoor symphony. Simply the stewards.
“…recipe for life is the great outdoors”
The Lake
As the Nantahala River carves it’s way through the mountain gorge in the Southern Appalachians, it completes it’s scenic journey at the mouth
of Fontana Lake. Fontana Lake, the “Jewel of the Great Smoky Mountains”, covers 10,670 acres and is simply breathtaking. Her pristine mountain waters with it’s deep, clear blue-green hues stretch over 30 miles long. With 96% of it’s 236 miles of shoreline National Park & National Forest, you can rest assured you and your family will have a protected natural habitat to explore for generations. Beautiful and un-crowded, Fontana Lake is ideal for boating, fishing, water skiing and canoeing. It is here – where it all comes together – you will find the Nantahala River Club. This is the place to experience life’s special moments.
The River
Located just east of Bryson City, NC, the Nantahala is a nationally recognized recreational river that winds it’s way through the scenic Nantahala Gorge. As a Nantahala River Club property owner, you will have direct access to both the Nantahala River and Fontana Lake. With warm weather beginning in early spring and extending late into the fall, the “Nanty” is a premier choice for paddling. And consistent dam releases ensure good water levels for all your whitewater adventures. Featuring Class II & III rapids with currents slow enough for the most cautious novices and fast enough to challenge the advanced paddler, the Nantahala has introduced more paddlers to whitewater than any other river in the world. There is even a world-class whitewater slalom training site at the take-out at the Nantahala Outdoor Center – your next door neighbor.
The Setting Cradled In the midst of forested mountains, Fontana Lake and the Nantahala River…with National Forests, the Appalachian Trail and The Great Smoky Mountain National Park, lies our small mountain community with big greenspace – the Nantahala River Club. And nestled right next to us is a neighbor that can keep you busy. Nantahala Outdoor Center, known around here as the “NOC”, sits at Nantahala River Club’s South Entrance. Now celebrating it’s 35th year of providing outdoor adventures, the NOC can help you and your family experience the vacation of a lifetime. And if you live at Nantahala

A place where you can pursue the passions you never had time to before. Or to learn new things you’ve always wanted to learn. Life’s memories etched in us forever. Showing your child how to tie a fly. Watching your spouse read a novel as you’re anchored in a cove while the sun sets. Hiking a section of the Appalachian Trail in the peak of Fall. Pulling your kids behind the boat on water toys you never knew existed, until their legs & arms turn to mush. Then seeing their faces as you do the same. Dining at a mountain restaurant overlooking the river. Learning to paddle whitewater
