“THERE IS NO CLUB LIKE PROMONTORY. FAMILIES COME HERE TO BE TOGETHER AND ENJOY THE KIND OF EXPERIENCES THEY DREAM ABOUT.” — JOHN E. SATHER AIA, AICP, SWABACK PARTNERS PROMONTORY ARCHITECT
IMAGINE A PRIVATE MOUNTAIN PLAYGROUND.
Imagine a private mountain playground where families grow closer to each other. A place where parents find themselves falling in love all over aga in and grandparents meet their newest family additions with unbounded joy. A place where teens unplug and children let their imaginations soar. A place where America’s families share in unforgettable adventures, and capturing life’s greatest stories. This is Promontory. For more than 15 years, Promontory has been etched into the hearts of families in search of a multigenerational mountain club like no other.
THE PROMONTORY VISION FULFILLED MOUNTAIN CLUB LIVING FROM NATURE’S MAJESTY - IT’S ALL HERE NOW.
Our private mountain club began in 2001, when the world was introduced to the vision of Promontory by an uncompromising developer with extensive experience in building communities and providing high-end hospitality. Finding inspiration in the massive land that stretches over 7,200 acres, Promontory developer F. Francis Najafi saw the potential for a timeless mountain club for all ages—one that would be unconventional— neither a traditional ranch nor a mountain version of your father’s country club. Just a stone’s throw from Park City, generations of families could pursue active recreation amid a diverse array of superb amenities, while completely immersed in nature. The Promontory vision guided the creation of a compound of unique club structures harmonious with the land. The architecturally diverse structures would allow family members to engage in their individual pursuits—and gather for family-wide recreation and celebration.
PARK CITY’S FOUR SEASON DESTINATION BRINGING FAMILIES TOGETHER FOR MORE THAN A DECADE
Since its 2001 debut, Promontory has received universal acclaim as a destination where life’s greatest moments naturally play out thanks to its unrivaled depth and breadth of extraordinary family experiences. The mountain club–which spans over 7,200 acres, or more than 11 square miles–features an investment of more than $400 million in exceptional and awardwinning amenities for every season. No other community comes close.
GUARDIANS OF NATURE SHARING A PASSION FOR THE PROMONTORY CONSERVANCY
Nature is truly celebrated at Promontory. The Gatehouse is a welcoming structure anchored in rustic stone, where the Promontory Ranger extends a warm and gracious Promontory welcome. This magical place is an 11-square-mile sweep of un-tamed high country rising and falling from 6,500 to 7,400 feet in elevation, over 60% of which is forever protected as natural open space. The land, all 7,200 acres of it, is under the vigilant stewardship of the Promontory Conservancy. Serving as both the Home Owner’s Association and the environmental guardian for the community, the Conservancy ensures that the policies protecting the Club’s open spaces are upheld, and that its internal trail system and neighborhood parks are properly maintained. Funded by owner dues and a 1% enhancement fee from real estate sales, the Conservancy’s oversight ensures that this sweeping display of natural grandeur will be protected for future generations to enjoy.
NATURAL RESOURCES Utah State University’s College of Natural Resources partnered with the Promontory Conservancy to conduct wildlife and vegetation inventories, creating a Geographic Information System (GIS) habitat database. The system assessed annual breeding bird survey routes and derived species lists for mammals, birds and vegetation types located within Promontory. In all, 68 avian, 25 mammalian and 64 different plant species in the 10 major habitat and cover types were identified.
COLLABORATING WITH PARTNERS IN NATURE Fortunately for Promontory Members, stewardship comes with ownership. Promontory Conservancy collaborates with Wild Aware Utah (WAU), a non-advocacy conservation program, to increase community awareness of wildlife within Promontory and promote education on the animals that may be encountered. All Promontory Members may take advantage of WAU’s extraordinary resources, including enjoying direct contact with the organizations contact.

A GRAND TRADITION OF COMMUNITY TOGETHERNESS Fourth of July week is the peak of the Promontory summer season—a true celebration for Promontory’s families. It begins with the Promontory Foundations’ annual Celebration Concert and Fundraiser to benefit many of Park City’s nonprofits. Then on Independence Day, thousands flock to Park City’s Historic Main Street to attend the city’s annual Fourth of July Parade to enjoy festive floats, marching bands and decorated vintage cars. Later in the evening back at Promontory, Members enjoy a casual, family reunion-style gathering during the Promontory Conservancy-hosted picnic, followed by a spectacular fireworks display in the nighttime sky. With four seasons of community traditions, between Promontory and the local community events, Members can experience big city living in a small town. The small mining town of Park City has made a name for itself since it was a venue for many of the 2002 Olympic Winter Games. Many Olympians have called Park City home for a reason with the wide variety of terrain and the white Champaign powder found nowhere else giving itself the name and character of the “greatest snow on earth.” Locals and tourists alike flock to the wide variety of events throughout the four seasons including the World Cup, Arts Festival and the Sundance Film Festival where celebrity sighting and independent films are seen at their best. The charming town of Park City has over 100 unique restaurants and bars as well as swanky boutiques with the latest fashions.
AN ARCHITECTURAL VISION FOR THE LAND THE FINE ART OF SOPHISTICATED DESIGN In every glorious detail, the homes of Promontory are properties of prominence. Mountain Modern Traditional homes evoke authenticity, proportionality, craftsmanship, sustainability and socially conscious design. Materials of heavy texture, protective overhangs, roof forms of character, strong and protective architectural massing and significant use of stone and wood—all are distinctive hallmarks of Promontory’s signature style. Hugging the terrain as if sprouting from it, the low-profile architectural compositions exhibit organic colors of the earth as well as deep, recessed windows designed to minimize any disturbance of reflective light. The step-down orientation of homes on hillsides allows for unobstructed views—allowing homeowners to enjoy a extraordinary lifestyle whose ever-present backdrop is Mother Nature at her finest.
CUSTOM MOUNTAIN HOMES The ultimate ownership opportunity at Promontory is reserved for buyers who dream of crafting their own mountain homes. A strict design review process ensures that every custom home evokes an authentic mountain ranch character and provides the utmost respect for its natural surroundings.
