LGA annual conference and exhibition 2013 2-4 July, Manchester Central
Fringe sessions at the LGA annual conference and exhibition 2013 If you are wishing to hold a fringe event at this year’s annual conference, please read the following details: Breakfast fringe events The time slots allocated for breakfast fringe events at this year’s conference are as follows. - Wednesday 3 July 8.00-9.00 - Thursday 4 July 8.00-9.00 Evening fringe events The time slots allocated for evening fringe events at this year’s conference are as follows. - Tuesday 2 July 1830-1930 - Wednesday 3 July from 1845 These times have been specially designated in the conference programme in order to avoid conflicting with main conference sessions which most delegates are likely to attend. The start and finish times of fringe events may be staggered within the above periods. Proposed fringe sessions taking place outside of these times will not be promoted to conference delegates via the LGA and will not be included in the conference agenda. The LGA has some limited rooms available for fringe events, please contact Roberta Henry on 020 7664 3151 should you wish to check venue availability within the Manchester Central complex. However, these rooms are available primarily for LGA fringes and therefore, organisations wishing to organise an event will need to source their own function room . Visit Manchester will be able to assist you in finding alternative rooms. Please contact the Client Services Team by calling +44 (0) 161 238 4563 / 4514 or via e-mail ABS@visitmanchester.com. Please bear in mind that there are many other external organisations that will be making plans to present fringe events, and you are therefore advised to book a function room as soon as possible. Please do not contact the LGA about venues outside of Manchester Central and their availability; unfortunately we are not able to provide a venue-finding service. Please do not contact us for information regarding other fringe events planned – we will not necessarily be aware of other events taking place, and if we are, we will not know until the deadline for entries has passed. If you wish to advertise your event in the conference agenda and on the dedicated conference website at a cost of £300 + VAT per entry, please see the booking form overleaf. However, you are advised to undertake any additional publicity as appropriate, e.g. membership mailing lists etc. There will be many events taking place, and the numbers attending cannot be guaranteed. The conference agenda (handbook incorporating fringes) will be distributed to delegates on-site at the event, your event will also be placed on the dedicated website as soon as possible after it is provided. Only events that take place within the time slots indicated in the conference programme will be included (detailed timings above) Please read carefully all the conditions for entry and guidelines for copy into the conference agenda (see back of entry booking form) prior to organising a fringe event and return 1) the enclosed booking form and 2) entry copy by no later than 10 May 1
